I know your academic yr stats in Sept/Oct right?
But when does it finish, ie when would someone graduate? Is it July?
Or and do postgrad degrees have the same grading, Cum Laude and all that?
Thanks

Re: americans
depends on whether the uni is on a semester or a quarter system.
Re: americans
Semesters.
Re: americans
Every uni here is switching to semesters (bar Oxb), it'd bite if you all switches to 1/4's.
Re: americans
We start regular semester in sept and yr end around May.
Re: americans
there are a few unis that still do quaters, but most are on semester system.
late aug/early sep - late dec
early/Mid Jan - early/mid May
some ppl graduate in deember, some in May, some even in July/August in the summer term.
large unis have graduation ceremonies each term, or atleast dec and may. small colleges may not.
Re: americans
So yr's end in May and then grad in is July?
My undergrad uni here had semester system, and we had the sept-dec (1) and then jan yo late may (sem .2) set up.
we grad in July.
similar?
Re: americans
July is too late I suppose .. b/c our summer classes satrts then. Grad goes by Late May the most! May be depends on a school too not too sure. But ours was around May.
Re: americans
and do MA/MSc degrees come with the whole latin jazz?
or is it a UK style pass/fail system?
Re: americans
there are summer graduation in many unis as well, they are late july or early aug
Re: americans
Your question was answered already here: http://www.paklinks.com/gs/showthread.php?t=232827&highlight=pass+fail
Most North American Unis have their graduation ceremonies either late May or early June… even though you may find out your grades etc. sometime by the beginning of May. Also like Fraudz said, some also have a second ceremony sometime in late summer/early fall for people who’re completing their summer term courses before they can graduate.
Re: americans
iin my college, if someone has only six credits left to complete, they can technically graduate in the spring (commencement is usually first week fo June) provided they complete those six credits during the summer semester only. We also have "winter" graduation, i.e., commencement in January..
Re: americans
You actually got admission into a college?
