Not a joke, not a sarcastic remark or a under the belt punch. More of an appreciation and respect.
There is an very busy intersection (signal light) near my house, and during rush hour traffic backs up for a long distance. 2 days ago, power went out and the signals were no longer functional. What did people do? Select one from below:
A) Everyone went at the same time.
B) The bigger cars went first.
C) Buses and trucks jammed up the intersection.
D) People took turns with each side going after the other, kind of like at a 4 way stop.
The answer is D! Yes, I am sure some people did just make a run for it, but for the most part people were waiting their turn and going. The 10 minutes I waited in there, I didn’t hear a single horn.

quite wrong there.. ppl back home have no respect for others.. their time is most important and they have zero patience.. the way they honk non-stop//.. its totally barbarious..
Re: Americans have discipline like none other Not a joke thread
Yeah, thats the great thing about american system/people.
Even at Muslim funeral motorcades here in Atlanta (north east subs), the people coming from the other side of the road actually PULL OVER off the road and stop until the motorcade has passed, going all the way to the Muslim cemetery. It is a good feeling to watch that.
Re: Americans have discipline like none other Not a joke thread
same thing would've happened in canada... except a few morons, everybody is quite courteous
about honking...
not everyone who honks the horn is doing it because they are pissed off... sometimes you have to let some moron know that the space s/he is so aggressively trying to occupy is already filled with another car which s/he doesn't see either due to lack of skill or patience.
In pakistan, people don't usually follow their own lane, if there is such a thing to start with. The guy in the front has the right to move left or right with no signaling or shoulder check. If you happen to be there trying to pass him, you better let em know. There is a habitual part in it too i guess.

To have a busy intersection converted to a four-way stop isn't discpline. This is to be expected.
Whats even better is to see a lone motorist actually stop at a stop-sign in a residential neighborhood at 3 in the morning (yeah, he could be drunk, but whatever).
Even more impressive is when people give way to emergency vehicles (fire, ambulance) who are coming from behind (and then curb their instincts to speed right behind the emergency vehicle).
And lastly, but most impressive, is when a school bus is stopped on the other side of the road, and all motorists stop on both sides till the flashing lights are turned off.
