Just because you can not hear it does not mean the condemnation is not there. The story just pasted by UTD hads to be from opinion pages of a rather small newspaper. The large networks did not really show much, and as I said i did nto see texas governer condemning these acts, does it mean that there was no ceondemnation? or does it mean that it was just not picked up?
Now as far as leaders of other muslim countries condemning the words of yet another extremist group, the question to ask is, are the leaders of these countries some sort of representative of the faith? N, they are leaders of their countries and what is going on is not really their problem, when it becomes their problem sure they will speak up.
As far as religious people denouncing these acts, come on down to my mosque and hear it in person.

These types of hateful acts that you mention are individual acts of ignorance that occur every day in every country. I don't expect them to be picked up by the governor or CNN. I am talking about internationally broadcasted fatwas and videos who ask Muslims worldwide to join the fight in killing the indfidels. Armies and militias who take the most holy names of your religion and commit unspeakable attrocities like these thugs threatening to burn alive their hostages. In the US there are mechanisms to handle these types of things - laws, rules and elections. But in the case of Muslims inciting violence and hatred, what are the mechanisms for moderation if it's not Muslim leaders leading the way in denouncing them? It doesn't have to be leaders of countries, and it doesn't have to be to placate non-Muslims. I'm more concerned about moderate voices being heard within Muslim communities to let them know that they are disgusted with this behavior. As far as I can tell Musharraf is leading the way, I wish there were more following his example.
ABU GHRAIB, Iraq (Reuters) - Iraqi insurgents said they had seized four Italians and two Americans on the western outskirts of Baghdad on Friday.
A Reuters journalist saw two captive foreigners, said by the insurgents to be Italians, in a mosque in a village in the Abu Ghraib district. One was wounded in the shoulder. Both were weeping.

Let’s hope this adds to the greater good and stops any more innocent Iraqi’s from being murdered by the American war machine and it’s dubious allies.
I think it’s about time the thread title was updated?
