...American Village...

I was out of town yesterday because I had to go to a very small town about 50 miles away from New Orleans for something important. I left house at about 7 in the morning. The area was very unpopulated. Just roads and bridges and lakes. Very foggy as there were fields on both sides. Pakistan ki yaad taaza hogayi :teary1:

Then I passed through the actual village. It’s very different than Pakistani village ofcourse. The roads were paved and very smooth, large beautiful houses, tractors and other agricultural machines parked in the frontyards, a canal running with the curvy road, small ‘mom and pop’ shops along the roadside, then many restaurants at all the intersections etc. A few things that I found common were fresh atmosphere, clean roads, friendly people, beautiful scenery (canal and green fields), and tranqulity and peace. The sun shining over those wet fields in the morning and when coming back, setting over those golden fields. I just loved it.

One thing that was very different in a good way was that there was a university (where I went - VERY smaller than the one I attend - looked like a high school to me) and there was wireless internet there that I used in order to surf gupshup from there, using my laptop :cb:

Have you ever gone to a countryside?

Re: …American Village…

No. :phati:

Re: …American Village…

I live in a pretty suburban area (not as “country-ish” as the place you described, though). I like where I live. We often leave a door or two in the house open so my little brother can get in when he comes home from school. My Dad starts up the car in the winter and comes inside to drink chai while the car is still running in our driveway…We have neighbors, but they’re all wonderful people

I’ve been to the countryside of Maryland (about 30 minutes south from where I live) because we know a family that lives by the water. It’s a gorgeous place.

I wanna live by the water when I grow up.

Re: ...American Village...

Countrysides are very beautiful and calm places. I would rather live there for peace of mind. When I visit Pakistan, I prefer to stay in the village most of the times :)

Re: …American Village…

i visit northern ontario pretty often. The best part is that it is all part of my job :phati: Infact I am going there again tommorow morning. It is also referred to as Cottage Country.
Mostly Lakes, green fields and fantabulous scenery. I love it.

Passionate lussi is not only punjabi things, when I was staying in Days Inn in Karachi, they served us lussi for the breakfast :halo: Personally, I am not a big lussi fan, I drink water or juice in the morning :yummy:

I don’t know how to milk a cow and make lussi, but we can certainly work something out and learn it together

Re: …American Village…

There’s nothing prettier than an English countryside village. Of course, I rarely ventured out of the city when I lived in England :bummer:

Re: ...American Village...

It doesn't matter what country it is, villages/countrysides are the best places to live (speaking in the terms of tranquility, safaayi, beauty, purity-food etc.)

Re: …American Village…
