BAGHDAD, Iraq – U.S. soldiers accused of raping and murdering a 14-year-old Iraqi girl drank alcohol and hit golf balls before the attack, an investigator said Monday at a U.S. military hearing to determine whether they should stand trial.
Criminal investigator Benjamin Bierce said he interviewed one of the accused, Spc. James P. Barker, on June 30, and recorded graphic and brutal details of the alleged assault on March 12.
Bierce was testifying on the second day of the hearing to determine whether five U.S. soldiers must stand trial in the rape-slaying of Abeer Qassim al-Janabi and the killing of her father, Qassim Hamza; her mother, Fikhriya Taha; and her 5-year-old sister, Hadeel Qassim Hamza, in the town of Mahmoudiya, one of the most violent areas in Iraq.

BAGHDAD, Iraq – An al-Qaida-linked group posted a Web video Tuesday purporting to show the mutilated bodies of two U.S. soldiers, claiming it killed them in revenge for the rape-slaying of a young Iraqi woman by American troops from the same unit.
The Mujahedeen Shura Council previously claimed responsibility for killing the two soldiers, who were seized in a June 16 attack near the town of Youssifiyah, southwest of Baghdad. A third soldier was killed in the attack.
But the statement was the first time the group linked the slaying to the rape case.
A statement by the group said the video was released as “revenge for our sister who was dishonored by a soldier of the same brigade.”
Re: American soldiers took turns to rape Iraqi girl
War is a very ugly thing. These shameless creatures not just raped this girl, but they tortured her, killed her family (including her 5 year old sister), then shot her several times, and then poured kerosene over her and burnt her, and in the end blew up the house with propane. I am very wary of the death penalty but these soldiers shouldnt be given anything less than the death penalty, no matter how ‘mentally disturbed’ they are.
Re: American soldiers took turns to rape Iraqi girl
Yep saw it on the news today. It's sad some soldiers have that kind of attitude toward Iraqis. A great many have lost their lives for Iraq's freedom, yet the deeds of few rotten apples will overshadow the sacrifices of many others.
Re: American soldiers took turns to rape Iraqi girl
What kind of revenge is that. Person A commits a crime, you can’t get hold of person A so you grab person B and C and punish them for something they didn’t do? That’s wrong!
Re: American soldiers took turns to rape Iraqi girl
As much as i agree that these actions are deplorable...angels dont exist in any army...the number of rapes and murders that took place between Pakistanis Indians and Bengalis is staggering...so savages exist everywhere...
Re: American soldiers took turns to rape Iraqi girl
When you're losing the war and when you see that you can't inflict substantial damage on the people who you're fighting, you tend to take out the frustration on those weaker...and this is exactly what they did.
Frustrated with where the war is leading them..they took all the anger out on that young girl...and by god, they'll pay for this.
If person A, B and C are from the same group and think, act and work together, stand up for each other, cover each others backs, feel for each other. Then yes...it does make sense punishing B and C for what A did.
Person A, B and C aren't just random people, its highly likely B and C would have done the exact same thing, had they got a chance.
Re: American soldiers took turns to rape Iraqi girl
Disgusting. These dogs deserve severe punishment.
But to say they are a true reflection of American society is the same as saying the Pakistani soldiers who raped and murdered thousands in East Pakistan are a true reflection of Pakistani society. Or that the terrorists who behead contractors in Iraq are a true reflection of Muslim society.
Re: American soldiers took turns to rape Iraqi girl
I dont blame the American soldiers either, its natural for any human to always go into this territory of s*, when they have been away from any physical interaction for a long time.
The only other option is to satisfy there desire is hom*se*** relationship.
This is one live example, though it is not allowed in this thread, what was proposed 1400 years to avoid this ill behavior of pure evil.
Allaah through our Prophet, allowed the captives to be married to Muslim men, favoring social and economic life.
This also was a kind of a manumission, for the captives. If they wanted, nauzbillaah they could commit same crime and behaviour with the captives check out a** sea of change.** Because these things are inevitable (that's s).**
Now people might take me wrong but I can proudly say 1400 years back that rule was applied and how advanced Islam was.
Sorry to post it here, please PM me.
Re: American soldiers took turns to rape Iraqi girl
Why not? Just watch some interviews with the “American society” about this incident. They’re favorite response is “Well, it’s wrong, but look what they’re going through there, what if they saw one of their comrades killed? They need to vent their anger somehow”. Dumb *)&@#$@#$@# lowlife scum. Yes, I do blame the Average American, indirectly. If they didn’t support Bush and his war crime in Iraq, that family would still be alive.
Re: American soldiers took turns to rape Iraqi girl
When we regard media as biased and against us then we shouldn't be really using media to base our judgments on.

Foreign policy doesn't play much of role in US national politics, their internal issues are at top, though very unforunate for the rest of world (esp countries like Afghanistan/Iraq etc.). When we criticise US/western media for stereotyping then we should not be doing the same.
Re: American soldiers took turns to rape Iraqi girl
Atrocities commited by Americans are not considered as atrocities by Americans
But Saddam Hussen who was doing exceptionelly well (considering what is happnign in iraq ) was considered as threat to mankind:snooty:

Though I'm not supporting Fret Wizard's stance, by your justification, average Americans are still to blame as their disregard for anything that does not concern their own issues can be catergorized as selfish.
But I'm not saying that every American is to blame. There are a lot of rational thinkers in that society no doubt. But the amount of peope who supported the War on Iraq (due to ignorance, selfishness or what ever else reason) is still quite significant. So eventhough saying that those soldiers represent American society as a whole would be pretty ridiculous, thinking that they are an extreme rarity would be quite naive.
Re: American soldiers took turns to rape Iraqi girl
If this incident means that all of American society is as bad as this particular soldiers, what would one learn about Pakistani society from the rapes committed by Pakistan army in1971 East Pakistan or een the gang rapes that happen every now and then in Pakistan?
Some of you need to think before speaking. Pointing American mistakes, crimes etc. is ok, but when you use this to stereotype, you should be aware of what others think of Pakistan and Pakistanis.
