**Charsadda District Police Officer Waqif Khan told Daily Times that the arrested man had been identified as Jawad Ali. He was released after he was found innocent and joined his family in Peshawar. “He was a Peshawari American,” the police official said. **

The police official said his name was Jodi Cannan according to the documents in his possession, but he told police his name was Jawad Ali.

He said he was going to Mohmand Agency to meet a friend, Habibullah. Police said he did not have any contact information for Habibullah. staff report

:hehe: So by documents he was “Jodi Connan” (or Judde Kenna) but his words over-ridden the documents and our police believed him, he didn’t have contact info of the friend and he was set free. lol.

KHAR, Pakistan - Pakistani intelligence agents re-arrested an American detained in the country’s volatile Afghan border region and were questioning the man, police said Wednesday.

The man — identified by police as Jude Kenan — was carrying a laptop computer when he was arrested Monday at a checkpoint in the northwestern district of Mohmand, near where Pakistani security forces have battled Islamic militants for two months.

District police chief Waqif Khan said the 20-year-old was released Tuesday but was picked up hours later at his home in the nearby city of Peshawar.

“He is now in the custody of intelligence agencies, who are required to quiz him again for further satisfaction,” Khan said.

Peshawar is the main city in the northwest and lies outside the tribal zone, where special permission is needed to visit.

Khan said the man had dual American-Pakistani citizenship.

I hope he is just an ordinary "dual-citizen", and not like so many British youth of Pakistani origin who committed heinous acts on 7/7.

Now matter what happens to this 20-year old chap, Pakistan is kind of unlucky when it comes to the religious-anarchic-fad among West-settled-youth of Pakistani origin.

I mean look at Indian-youth settled in UK and USA. Majority of them love education, they love their adopted country, and they are proud of pro-US governments in India.

sadly not for Pakistani youth. they live in the West, and worship bidduin ideals.

ehtesaab, if you have ever been that region, u'll see alot of people going in and out of the border. There are many Pakistanis that have American Passports and reside in Pakistan. This 20 year old kid is one of them, and it is very unlikely he is an agent or anything of that sort.
