This is a post just to educate people. The americans cry how the germans put people in concentration camps during world war 2, while they themself put japanese americans in concentration camps too and half of the japanese people were children.
It just exposes more american hypocracy.

In an attempt to crush forces seeking independence for East Pakistan, the West Pakistani military regime unleashed a systematic campaign of mass murder which aimed at killing millions of Bengalis, and likely succeeded in doing so.

Dude, if you want to take issue with internment camps during WWII, I think you should be from Bhutan or maybe Iceland. Pakistan is simply not a good place from which to throw stones when it comes to the treatment of fellow human beings.

In Germany, the objective was to kill people, here to contain them. At no time were the gas ovens and mass graves so popular for homicide in Germany a part of this country.
Yes, we had them for containment of people who were in our country and we contained a people based on their race and because of that we now have strict laws against that.
Why do you think that our containment facilities are now in Cuba? Bush found the loophole.

the containment camps were a shameful partof US history but one that we all learn from and to try and esnure that it does not happen again.
almost all countries have something in their past that they are not proud of and US has its share. We should move forward learning from mistakes of the past for a better future for everyone.

Gosh arn’t we horrible people. Funny thing, somehow getting attacked, be it Pearl Harbor or 9/11 seems to pi$$ us off. And, as noted above, the containment camps in WWII were to protect against spies an sabateurs, not to roast people in ovens. Sort of a qualitative distinction there…

My father, greatest generation age group, will not eat sushi, and refers to it as "bait". He never bought a Japanese car either. He was still ticked off over that "sneak attack" well into the '90's. He will eat LoMein however.....

You forget, those bombs were retribution for their attack on us.
I know, I know, I heard all the blah blah blah about returning fire with something more than they could handle and yeah, the death toll was higher, but there is a price to pay when you strike out at someone. Sometimes you get hurt.
