its a bit on the lines of American Desi… but a bit more serious…
anyone remember the sikh guy in American Desi who was doing engineering but had a talent for art? well i think American Chai basically focuses on that… how indians (desis) supress their talents in order to fulfil their parents wishes and demands..
its a pretty light movie, but i liked it…
i love the imaginary dance and song scene.. its halarious 
and the lead guy is pretty kewl too… and his friend toby :love:
i found the movie a rip off of american desi. it had it's funny moments - yes the dream song for one - but i preferred american desi. even today the characters haven't been matched. the sikh, the muslim from mirzapur who refused to fall in love, and kris the anti-indian. :)

Umm, was it the one starring madhur jaffry and she dies? oh that was too sad. and the character of her daughter! I don’t know why but I took a deep dislike to that girl, maybe because she couldn’t make up her mind which man is best so she sleeps with them all -so very american.

yeah i disliked her character as well... but then i disliked her brothers character too... i think they were trying to show the most realistic thing possible though... we are so immuned to happy endings haina?
i cried in that movie... hehe
i heard american chai was not good!
one of the guys from work was telling me about it...said it was actually really bad!
