You conveniently gloss over the treatment of 2000 year old Jewish communities in North Africa. Rounding up 10,000 and putting them in forced labor camps generally is considered a bit oppressive.
And while I am not going to justify French colonialism, The Brits and Ameircans who you are accusing of crimes were not there to occupy, they were there to challenge a totalitarian alliance. Sound familiar?
