“American” Afghanistan’s Three Major Crops: Opium, Human organs and Children

OPINION

I just heard an eyewitness account of life in Afghanistan that curdled my blood. Have you heard similar reports? “Since the American takeover of Afghanistan, the major crops there are now opium, human organs and children.” What is the lowest denominator that human beings can sink to? It’s all happening in American Afghanistan.

Of course we know about the secret torture chambers that American and Pakistani contractors have set up there. But do you know why they are there? “People are being grabbed off the street and tortured in order to get information out of them. These torturers think that somehow, if they torture enough people, they will get lucky and discover information that the Americans might be willing to pay for.”

We already know about Afghanistan’s opium trade. Under American supervision, Afghanistan has become the world’s number one heroin supplier–even outdistancing Burma’s infamous Golden Triangle. “Since America has taken over, there is more opium being grown in Afghanistan than there
are vegetables.” How to relate it to our own experiences? It would be as if our great California central valley was now devoted solely to growing opium. If that were to happen here, what would Californians eat? Ask that same question in Afghanistan. The answer is, “Not much.”

It’s clear to anyone who is up on current events in this region that Prime Minister Hamid Karzai is pretty much a puppet. “He is hardly more than the Mayor of Kabul. If that.”
Besides these well-known incompetencies, corruptions and crimes against humanity, what else is new in American Afghanistan?

“Children in Afghanistan are being kidnapped–from off the streets and even from out of their homes.” According to the Pakistan News Service, one Afghani father was asked to pay $4,500 in ransom for his kidnapped son. At first the kidnappers sent the distraught father his son’s finger–with a note attached saying, “Next time it will be his head.” The father payed the ransom money. The boy was returned naked and drugged.

In American Afghanistan, young girls are being sold to American contractors to use for sex. “Even the American-sponsored hospitals are not safe. There have been instances of girls and young women going there, being anesthetized for one reason or another and then, when they come out of the anesthesia, discovering that they have been raped.”

Children have become a cash crop in American Afghanistan. Our “Northern Alliance” buddies are harvesting children over there just like the way we in America are harvesting wheat.

In America, George Bush supporters are trying to instigate a
Constitutional amendment outlawing gay marriage. Instead, let’s instigate an amendment making it illegal to give US taxpayer money to support Afghani warlords who participate in the rape and sale of children.

And if Americans are willing to pay big bucks for nation-building in Afghanistan, let’s do it right. Let’s stop giving tanks and dollars to sleazy warlords and start giving books and food to RAWA, the only organization that effectively fought the Taliban and is now in a position to actually help the people of Afghanistan.

In American Afghanistan, there is another all-too-familiar harvest: Human organs. “It is a common occurrence for the bodies of young people to be found with their hearts, kidneys, livers and even their eyes carefully and surgically cut out.” No organ is wasted. What would you call this? Recycling? Ecology? Organic farming?

This is our “Christian” government’s finest hour? America’s
presentation of democracy to the world? This behavior sickens me. Usually I like to suggest some upbeat answer to every problem but I don’t even want to talk about it any more.

So much for liberation by the US

Things will be the same if not worse, in Iraq and anywhere else the US decides to go to do some “liberating”.

When the Taliban was ruling, nothing of this sort ever happend, they actually had control over the country. Ofcourse they weren’t perfect,
but I am sure the Afghani people are wishing for their return. Atleast it will save them from this hell they’re experiencing.

Of course, here is the headline from today's "Baltimore Chronicle"

*It's the End of the World as We Know It *

So let's look at this fine bit of reporting. Is Jane Stillwater in Afghanistan? Did she actually do any personal investigative reporting? How exactly did she come by this remarkable information?

"I just heard an eyewitness account "

No name, no way to check sources, no way to verify the truth. What crappy jounalism. No doubt Opium is back, the Afghans have been growing it for what, a thousand years? But organ harvesting? To even get fresh organs to a hospital that could do a transplant would be damn near impossible. Does anybody know how many tissue typing labs are in Afghanistan? How about none. And child slavery? Could you imagine what the still conservative Muslims in Afghanistan would do with a child molester? I shudder to think.

More sensationalized rumor based reporting by a rag newspaper.

But you guys will swallow it hook line and sinker....

And of course bad things never happen in completely repressive totalitarian regimes right? Long live the Taliban....

I would still go for the rag paper over the University of Hawaii anyday :hehe:

Of course Baltimore chronicle is talking rubbish. Why? because America can do no wrong.

So, what is this comparsion with taliban. Are the Americans now reduced to comapring themselves to the Taliban standards. How the mighty fall?

Well, let’s see if we have any education anywhere close to here.

Here is the “Blog” of the Author of this article. No credentials noted whatsoever. But here is her opening statement:

“Imagine a world where EVERY child is wanted, nurtured, protected and loved: World Peace in one generation!” My goal in life (for now) is to send George Bush to jail and support Dennis Kucinich. I believe that it’s time for the human race to stop killing and defiling the planet – and for the human race to finally evolve!"

Now could this “journalist” have a WEEE bit of bias?

Sounds like your typical left wing Guppy, no wonder you want to swallow her crap, you could have written it for her based on the rumor and conspiracies right here at Gupshup.

It’s hilarious how you continue to spew crap yet conveniently avoid all points or questions made by these left wing Guppies :hehe:

As for your journalism critique, you think maybe the facts and figures the Bush Administration spits out about the war, maybe THEY are a WEE bit biased.

The reports about Afghanistan's three major exports have also been appearing in some shape or form on BBC and NPR. However I have a MAJOR problem with this statement:

Jeez Jane Stillwater what the hell are you smoking?

Well, let’s think about this a bit. To kidnap a child for his tissues, you would have to know his tissue type, and have an available donor. That would mean that you would have to be able to know and tissue type the child, and find a suitable match. Then transport the organs at top speed to the recipient. OR you could simply kidnap the child, take him to a big city, and “shop around” the organs.

Doing a quick google, I find that perhaps the problem is not “American Administered Afghanistan”, but Pakistan! This would be the only logical place where the tissue typing and surgery could take place! And indeed this appears to be true!

Health minister hints at new organ transplant law

LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Tahir Ali Javed has hinted the government may make a law to allow the transplant of human organs to discourage the illegal sale of human organs.

Talking to the PPI on Sunday, Dr Tahir said the government would discourage the sale of kidneys, eyes and liver for transplant. He said a law to streamline methods of organ transplantation would be implemented.

The sale of human organs, particularly kidneys, has taken a serious dimension over the last two decades and private hospitals, clinics and laboratories are openly doing the business without restrains. Urologists and nephrologists have expressed grave concern about the alarming rise of kidney disease in Pakistan due to malnutrition and contaminated water. They say that diabetes and hypertension are major causes of kidney failure.

Perhaps the good Muslims who are kidnapping the children, taking them to Pakistan, butchering them, and selling them to wealthy Pakistani’s should be a LITTLE bit more to blame than the “American Administered Afghanistan”.

Pathetic, blaming us for your problems…

And, by the way, Apparently this was going on long before Afgahnistan became “American Administered”. Please note the date of the following article:

Feminist Daily News Wire
November 13, 1998

Afghan Organs Stolen in Peshawar Refugee Camps
The extraction of human organs is becoming increasingly common in Afghan refugee camps in Peshawar, according to a report by the Women’s Alliance for Peace and Human Rights in Afghanistan (WAPHA).

WAPHA sent a three-member delegation to visit several Afghan refugee camps near Peshawar to collect information on the situation there. The group learned that human organs, in particularly kidneys from children, are being stolen from refugees in the camps.

The report issued by the group also revealed that Afghan children, eight and nine-years-old, are subjected to sexual violence, victims of beatings, and forced into child labor. Girls of up to 10-years-old are bound in wedlock against heavy dowers.

The authors of the report allege that local police as well as officials of Afghan refugees commissionerate are implicated in these crimes.

So apparently these things were going on during the Taliban time, and continue to this day. (with the organs apparently sold to wealthy Pakistani’s) The author in the original post has really no personal knowledge of these things, she just decided to bend it into an anti-Bush anti-American piece according to her own agenda.

I totally agree with ohioguy.

Since I have also heard an story about the asian kidnappers, who used tokidnap asian children from india, bungladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan during last two decades and used to sell them to arabs for camel riding as well as for training and using them for succide attack, after young ones used to be adopted by certain people as their own kids.

So if that story is correct then perhaps, to nullify that story they are, now killing them and taking out, their organs, though can not be used, as such. Wallahou allam bis souwab. Sokoon

This thread is a testament of how badly researched data can be used as propaganda by people who have political agendas to fulfill.
