dont know, but I guess his username is appropriate because that is what his wife would be shouting on the first day of wedding so lets hope that she has a real American accent or no one would understand what she is saying.

My non-desi frnds or folks from work are not racist they will work hard to be accommodating rather than trying to be funny about somebody's accent. I have never overheard any non-desi making fun of desi accent , even by accident. If they go home and laugh about it I have no clue.

Well;

1) People are progressive, they know life and work can take them to different countries where speaking the language with the right pronounciation/accent is only going to help them.

2) It's just nicer when you are able to speak any language with the correct accent. Though i wouldnt make it a matter of life and death especially when it's not your first language but there is no harm in perfectioning it because of its importance as the world language.

No, its not that! In my OP I also said British accent sucks as well. I mean thick desi accent is really just horrible to listen to.

There is no need to speak english .. moounh terha ker ke. Desis who try to speak like americans look even more stupid because it is obvious that there are trying to be American wannabe. Half of them think that adding gonna, wannaa and such to their vocabulary make them American.

Having a nice clean accent is all what is needed.
