I see no humiliation in this... Media is weird at least most of the time.
Chicago tried but it din't get the games, so what. They were atleast in the list.
Not Chicago who tried. It was president of Zionist States of America, who was rebuked by IOC. His whirlwind tour got him less than 20 votes!
It does not matter whether you think of it as humiliation or not. Majority of the world, including Americans themselves, see it as humiliation. Now you can believe all you want. Who can stop you from believing in Santa Claus?

Brazil is largely peaceful away from international terrorism and counter terrorism and that is one of the main reason Reo go it apart from the fun, nice
You really are a close-minded dimwit. But then again, what do I expect from an apologist of Islamic extremism like yourself?
For someone as obsessed with the US and Israel you would think he would do some homework on the US-Israel relationship. When Israel was created and attacked by half a dozen Arab nations the US did nothing. It was the USSR which provided weapons to the nascent state to beat long established Arab armies. The USSR, and then France, were Israel's chief arms suppliers until the late 60's when the US started to give aid and sell weapons to Israel after its Arab rivals drifted into the Soviet camp (Egypt, Syria, and Iraq). This is hardly the record of a "zionist" nation. Most Americans probably don't even know what zionism is. Ironically, Pakistanis often complain about zionism. Pakistan was founded on very similar concepts to Israel, most importantly being a state for one religious group escaping discrimination and persecution.
IOC chose Rio De Jainero because the Olympics have never taken place in South America and Brazil certainly has the infrastructure to support such a bid.
The last time the summer olympics were in North america was in 1996 in Atlanta.
Since then, they have gone to Australia, Europe (athens), Asia (beijing), Europe (london 2012) and South America (Rio 2016).
After South America...they will most likely return to North America either Toronto or San Francisco in 2020....then either Asia or Middle East in 2024 most likely Istanbul or Dubai because it will be time for a muslim country to host the olympics.
Don't rule out South Africa and Egypt. The latter kills a few birds with one stone: Africa, Middle East, and Muslim but I think South Africa has a greater chance since it is viewed as the "leader", or at least emerging leader of sub-Saharan Africa while Egypt is associated with the Middle East more than the rest of Africa. The other advantage South Africa has is it does not have an Islamist problem, although Egypt has in recent years done a good job in combating terrorism.
