American would certainly be "humiliated" had the IOC decided to host olympics in Qum, Makkah, or Madina.
Anyone who cares to notice that Rio is the one of the best "party towns" in the World. beaches, the beauty pageants, the mardi gras carnivals, and over all care free fun aspects of Rio isn't lost on any world traveler.
