He died before this war even started! He was a brave guy, but hes no legend, nor is he a hero.

Re: Amer Sahib e Shaheed Ahmad Shah Massoud!!!(The legend in fight against terror)

You will say that!!!

But for the rest of the world he is hero and a legend. He shackled Taliban and almost brought them down .Remember how he managed to control the strategic Panchshir valley!!!

Actually he didnt manage to bring them down. Just because he was a 'friend' to India doesnt mean you over glorify him. In the end, remember he died at their hands too. Please call a spade a spade!

Ahmed Shah Masood kept a strategically important part of Afghanistan away from Taliban control. It enabled his army and his allies to fight and weaken the Taliban government from within Afghanistan. His administration in the Northern Panjsheer Valley and other regions was one of the major reasons for the easy downfall of Taliban. The US of A used Northern Alliance to fight Taliban and aided them with aireal bombing. It wouldn't have been easy if the whole of Afghanistan was under Taliban's control.

A.S.M died at the hands of Taliban does not mean that Taliban could win over him.Infact that started the complete downfall of Taliban.

A.S.M was a great person ,he was a humanitarian and an intellectual giant besides his bravery and a leader as a great militaryman.

It was A.S.M who rescued thousands of Hindus and Sikhs from the henchmen of Hekmathyar in 1993.

Re: Amer Sahib e Shaheed Ahmad Shah Massoud!!!(The legend in fight against terror)

If there are great losses to this world,in it's course of history, in the form of a individual perish,I will say that A.S.M's death is one of them.

It is all too well to discuss Ahmed Shah Masud's goods and bads but one thing is clear. He was far far better than any other warlords in Afghanistan, be it Taliban or cronies like Hekmatyar, Rabbani et cetera.

And he was not a war lord at all.he had never fought for power. He was person of extreme knowledge ,humanity and intelligence.

A bit far-fetched, innit?

By the way, fighting for power doesn't always translate into greed or corruption on the fighter's part. It is akin to saying that yes, he was fighting for power but against a tyrannical regime. There's a difference. A number of anti-Taliban warlords were in alliance with him and hence the NORTHERN ALLIANCE.

Insofar as he fought against Taliban and kept a strategically important part of Afghanistan in his control, he should be praised.

:cb: yea, the same “humanity” “Taliban” showed in 1990s? Masood might have sided India but he was no “humane” IMO, he was just another warlord.

LOL please read up about him from allsources before you get yourself excited;;;

  1. He was just as reponsibe for the destruction of Kabul as the rest - he rained rockets down on Kabul as did Hekmmatyar and co.

  2. His party have been involved in ethnic cleansing of pastuns, Uzbeks and Hazaras. Im glad he rescued thousands of hindus and sikhs but what abot the hundred thousands of non tajik afghanis that died? I forgot the Indian definition of ethnic cleansing does not apply when "allied" forces take part in it.

  3. His party represented the Tajiks and a very small number of Pashtuns - still a very small minority yet they believe they should dominate Afghanistan.

  4. So the Indians support unelected warlords - not really much of a surprise is it. A warlord is a warlord. Hikmatyar and Taliban are fashionably hated because they were Pakistan influenced. The Northern Alliance, Ismail Khan are seen as accepatble because they sold their souls to the indians ....:P
