Re: AMD vs Intel: intel regains crown
Impressive. But the price is going to be way high! - so there is no use of getting it afterall.
Re: AMD vs Intel: intel regains crown
Really that good or an excellent marketting strategy 6 months in advance?
Re: AMD vs Intel: intel regains crown
It's all hype. 6 months away and in that time AMD will release their new processor using DDR2 800. That will probabaly give a big performance increase.
Re: AMD vs Intel: intel regains crown
not that much... cuz ddr2 has a huge latency problems...
few sites did mention that conroe 2.66ghz will cost around $5xx, thats still cheap compare to fx-60 >$1000
lets hope and see which one is better... btw am2 is comin out in 6/6/2006
and conroe is coming early july... perfect timing to build another gaming computer.
Re: AMD vs Intel: intel regains crown
Whatever the case may be in the end, I think it is time to put a little money in the INTEL stock.
Re: AMD vs Intel: intel regains crown
Has higher latency but DDR2 800 makes up for it with sheer bandwith.
Re: AMD vs Intel: intel regains crown
AMD all the way babes…:k:
Re: AMD vs Intel: intel regains crown
yea i know opterons are very good for overclocking with dual core. but x2 and fx are more optimized for gaming...
this battle reminds of good old days in 2000: ghz war athlon thunderbird vs intel pent 3... overall in performance athlon won
amd is leading as for rite now, but even am2 wont be able to stand against conroe... but later on amd will fight back...
Re: AMD vs Intel: intel regains crown
well two things will clog Intel back one is the high cost and since Conroe is approximately 5-6 months away, Amd will pull out something from the hat to match Conroe for sure and that will be at a good price to compete with Intel.
