or maybe they just fixed and installed ur first mainboard. Rather then a new one.
i m no expert though but usually laptops die cuz of overheating 
Amd is pretty awesome :k: Hp is also good.

Yeah mine just is hot all the time

no, the screen has nothing to do with overheating. maybe the design isnt very efficient to keep it cool or the fans in it arent very effective.
bigger screen may use more power and heatup the battery but not the processor or mainboard. my sister has amd HP laptop and its been about 5-6 months and its going strong and the screen is pretty big aswell 17inches.
Yup mine is a 17" screen too.. well its gonna be 2 years in december so i cant really complain. i love it. its beautiful 
mainly why i bought it.. but yeah its been running alright. the mainboard has only died twice :halo: and that was like in march.. and now.. so ran okay for about 15 months.. before any problems.
its a great machine though.. i

oh and best to make sure u get insurance on it because the asian guy at the store told me that a lot of HPs have problems with the screens.. like the screens just go blank but idk.
