Ambreen UK make-up artist... advice please!

Hi Everyone,

I’m new to the forum but have read a lot of threads on here and found them very useful so far

I’m looking to book one of the top make-up artists for my wedding day. But looking at reviews for the big names, I’m really worried about what I have read about their attitude and behaviour. That is the last thing I need on my wedding day when I’m stressed and nervous enough!

The only make-up artist I have never read anything negative about in terms of attitude is Ambreen. Has anyone ever used her for their own bridal make-up or had a trial with her (or know anyone else who has)? Could you please tell me how your experience was with her. That would be really helpful to me, as I don’t personally know anyone who has used her.

The photos of real brides I have seen on her Instagram are really good. I think some brides have waaaay too much eyeliner for my liking, but this might be the bride’s own preference. I have heard that she sometimes really cakes on the foundation too, but would she be willing to listen to the bride if she wanted a more natural look??

I was originally going to go with Annie Shah for my wedding day, as her real brides gallery on Facebook seems more suited to the look I want. But I was soooo put off by the multiple reviews I have read about how she is often rude and rushed as she books too many clients in one day. Has anyone here had any encounters with her?

Btw, just in case anyone suggests Lubna- she’s not available on my date. As for Dil and Jawaad- I’m not too keen on having a male MUA although I know these 2 are amazing.

Your advice will be much appreciated

Thank you.

Ambreen has no attitude at all is very professional to deal with. She can pile it on, however she will tone it down if you ask her.

If you want a similar style but lighter try seema syed, she is part of ambreens team and is also brilliant - NO attitude at all either.
Gini Bhogal also is very good if you want a toned down look.

I would reccomend Azbah Ali.! She manages lubna's academy and is the most down to earth person i had her for all 4 of my events! And the good thing is she actually listens! Ive heard good things about ambreen not much reviews around though

She arrived on time. Had a nice attitude and was so down to earth. Most of all her makeup was ammmmmaaazzzziiinnnnngggg!

I had zukerat as my artist. She was kind fun and did FANTASTIC makeup. My cousins were amazed in pakistan saying its like you get ready from the best salon here in karachi.

Re: Ambreen UK make-up artist... advice please!

^i was going to suggest zukreat as well.

I'd say go for Azbah Ali- I saw a bride of hers last year and she was totally stunning. The makeup didn't look too heavy close up. Have a look at her brides on Instagram. Where are you based? I think Azbah is based in Birmingham. Zukreat is also a good option but I found her to be too pricey in comparison to other MUAs. Although you said that you don't want a male MUA, Jawad and Dil are both reasonably priced.
