When does being ambitious turn into just being greedy and when is content a nicer way of saying “lazy”?

If he does not want to go out and work and is content with her income it is being lazy. When She spends more time in making money then being a wife that is being greedy even though he is a good provider.

Great question. I guess depending on your role in your family, if you're fulfilling all your needs and the needs of those you're responsible for, then you should be "content" for the most part. At the same time, you can be fulfilling all your needs, but still be ambitious and eager to strive for more in life, which is totally fine if it's feasible.

Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction.
Contentment only borders on Laziness when one trades Norms for an easier way out !

Ambition for money could be greed. Ambition for their career to become an expert (due to personal interest), to want to help people... and I am sure there are some other good reasons, are good things.
I find content vs. laziness difficult to define too.

Ambition is when you strive to well in life to benefit those around you and try to be a good provider.
Greed is when you make money to show off.
Being content is being happy with what you have but always up for betterment of life...being lazy is doing nothing in life to get ahead.

I work full time to make a living for me and my daughter that is my need and I wish to have a fruitful growth is my career that is my ambition.
A few months back I was considering to move abroad to make more money and to have a better living while leaving my daughter for some time with parents that was my greed.
I can do some work from home after my full time but I don’t because I want to rest and spend time with my family …this is lazy me
