I'm in PK and want a wedding cake too. So here are my questions;

1 - What sort of cake do you recommend for a local wedding (given that most people here prolly don't like marzipan, fondant is too sweet, an my groom isn't a big cake fan either (sweet cakes at least).

2 - I was thinking of a Ferrero Rocher cake with a white chocolate surface - what say you good people?

3 - Where in Lahore to get a fab, yummy but not stupidly expensive cake made from?

You can always do other flavours of cake that are not as sweet as typical party cakes. Your ferrero rocher idea is great and sounds really delicious. You can also do flavours like carrot cake, coconut or black forest, tierra massou, lemon cake or any other type of fruit cakes or custard filling cakes are a good alternative. It really depends on what you like but as for flavours your options are definitely there. :) And instead of rich fondant you could do any type of chocolate pour, or fruit or custard topping. Buttercream that isn't as sweet if you want that smooth western wedding cake look. The possibilities are there, It really would depend on who your having it made from and what they offer. :) As for bakeries in Lahore, I wouldn't have a clue about that but maybe the others here would know more!

This amazing wedding cake was made of White & Chocolate fondant; specifically halved for the bride & groom (Half traditional for the bride and half modern for the groom). Chocolate ganache delicately dripped down the chocolate side while a hand-pipped design decorated the other side. Fresh tuxedoed strawberries adorned the cake.

i really like these two my cake is going to an inspiration of either these two!! anyone know any good places in manchester that would be able to accomodate for this?? would love to get some recommendations and also how much would you think this would cost to get either of these two made?
