The lake was a stop-off on the Indus flyway for Siberian migratory birds, but recently the numbers have fallen from 25,000 birds counted in 1988 to just 2,800 bird counted in 2002, because the lake no longer provides the birds’ main food, the lake fish. In the place of the birds, the lake now hosts a saline water reed. :hinna:
The lake also provided large volumes of water for irrigation but this has also been reduced and has resulted in a great reduction in the area irrigated by the lake.

i visited Karachi...more than half of our clan is in Pakistan now, almost all of them in Karachi :) i think only a few are in Lahore. i enjoyed my stay there.**

Lahore is a fun city! so much to do!from historical sites to eating out!

oh i see...i toured both posh N depressed areas of Karachi...from Clifton to Rafa-e-aam...a big contrast just like i see in Mumbai...i wish someday the poor will live at least in dignity and safety. aameen

me too. But I have never been to Sachal Sarmast's shrine and instead of living in Karachi and passing near by Abdullah Shah's mazar many times, I've near visited the Dargah.

living in khi i never got a chance to visit Quaid-e-Azam mazar, though we often used to pass by from there ... i think i only went once whn i was like a toddler .. this is wht my mom told me! :D .... as for Abdullah shah Ghazi ive been there! infact the last time i went there was in 2009 ....
