ok, i am going to sound like a very picky person who is never happy about any drama or what ever, but i just couldn’t stop making this post because right now my heart is aching for another one of my fav. novel by umera ahmed which got dramatized too and it is ruined so badly, beyond my imagination.
i just saw first episode of amar bail. and i am speechless. i didn’t even know it was possible to make something as horrible as this drama:mad3: the girl have no idea on how to act. and adnan siddiqui! i never hated him as much before. and the worst part is that it is directed by sakina summo! the woman who directd my most fav. drama ever which was wajood-e-lariab, and she also directed darbar-e-dil which wasn’t perfect but it was still watchable.
but this one. OMG. i have no clue how umera ahmed allow this
maybe i am over reacting but i just watched 16 minutes of it, and i am so frustrated that i can go beat up someone
i also heard some really bad reviews about it. i did read couple of episode of that novel. and quite honestly, even though it was a great novel (well watever i read), but it has so many thing going on in that novel. and to me its quite of a work to dramatize this novel.
amina (a guppan) did mention that aliza's character was badly transcript. and the girl who was playing that role needed a load of homework to do.
ps. however, i strongly believe that it is really hard to project umera's writing in the dramas, as it takes one to write these novels (umera herself), whereas hundreds mind come together to project her thinking. i am sure someone do this novel again, though with load of preparation.

it was on vidpk. and i have read the novel when it came in khawateen digest, and then again recently when i was in pakistan. i really liked how umera ahmed wrote it. it was a different story, different from regular lovey dovey stuff.

it was a different story as i said before. and even though it had many things going on in it, and how the story was being told in recent times and also in flash backs, the idea was great and the characters were really different from usual. the main hero of the novel was also the villan. even thought it was about bureaucracy and other boring stuff like politics, it was just amazingly written by her that even the person like me loved it.
and i know how everyone said it’s not easy to dramatized umera ahmed’s novel. but that drama just lack common sense. after watching amar bail, i am so glad for babar javel of meri zaat zarra-e-baynishan (u can read the other post to see how much i criticized him, but after watching this drama, babar javed seems like the greatest director) the main character alizay, can’t even say two words correctly. omg omg. i hate them all so much for ruining it. urgh.
I can voluntarily shoot the girl who played Aleize, I still cant belive how terrible she was…She was moti, ugly, couldnt act to save her life and had horrible facial expressions
I can honestly feel your pain, She was an absolute disaster infact everyone in the drama, Umar’s abba was meant to be some mean guy and guess who payed him? Shakeel
omg, thanks god there is someone else who agree with me. i don’t know what sakina summo was thinking i wish she had gotten that girl faiza hasan for alizay’s character, she has played umera ahmed’s herion’s role very well in dar bar-e-dil and wajood-e-lariab.
and what is up with adnan siddqui even he didn’t palyed up to his mark.

Faiza Hassan is good but I wouldve liked to see a fresh new faces to play umar and Aleize

^ i don't think its because she is 'big headed', she is a serious writer who is just not comfortable with the limelight on her personally, majority of the times the interviews conducted tend to be more about the personal life or given that angle, rather than professional so one can't blame her for avoiding the showbiz hoopla.
Faiza Hassan is good but I wouldve liked to see a fresh new faces to play umar and Aleiz

she is my MOST fav. person ever (alive :D) please don't call her big headed it upsets me (yes i sound like a 16 year old he he) but i was thinking about emailing her on facebook but i didn't know what to say. i want to say something that leaves as effect on her, i just don't want to get my frustration out on her.
i have read her interviews in khawateen diagest. she is just not that kind of person who likes to give interviews on tv and there is nothing wrong with it.
i really wish i can talk to her someday, it's like my biggest wish right now. when humayoun saeed, faisal qureshi, and adnan siddqui mentioned her name in nadia khan show and said umera said this, umera said that, i felt so jealous of them that they can talk to her and i can't :(
ok i agree, this drama is pretty bad. its on tv one in USA on tuesdays, 2 episodes so far and the story fails to hold any interest, very surprsing since sakina sumo is a really good director. and i agree, that new girl has NO expressions and she mumbles her lines haven’t seen her in any other play so maybe she was a sifarshi addition, the script and direction seems off.
i have seen this drama...well it wasnot bad....the main girl isnot that good...she is ok....adnan saddiqui and rest were good in their parts....overall its a good drama, i mean it aint something great great but i did see all of it...i would say its a good time pass
