i dont think ppl will get a dress from a designer because its a 'designer', I mean it has to be nice and what ur looking for to wear on ur special day! Most brides here have shopped around looking for bridals, normal stores as well as designers.....and whatever they purchase, designer or not, its bcus they loved it and its what they were looking for!
rupayhalwa..i totally agree with u!..i dont really care about designers lehgnas and specific make up artists or specific beauty parlours doing my makeup..ill just talk the makeup aritst thru it and if i dont liek soem tstuff ill tell er nd shell adjust /change accordingly...
im just gonna choose a nice pretty dress..im not gonna go overboard..simple jewllery..simple function..
honestly i think its more important that what type of person im marrying and what type of inlaws im getting and what my life will be like after marraige..to work on that n owrry about myself..n work on bringing samaj and sabr inside of me to have a sucessful marraig rather than becoming bridezilla and going ballistic over stage settings..dress kaam..wagera vagera..
please girlz..dont take offence..thisis y i never said anything b4 cause i thiought evreyone is oppostie of me here and if i sawy somethign like this the girls will attack me..but maybe there r some girlz here like me..:)
^u r sooooo right i agree its not from any importans what u wear. designer or non designer who care u r the one who fell good in it.

OIC, now we r on the subject, i saw your wedding pics silsila on another thread and your nikah dress was really really nice, mashallah. The stuff i c here is mostly all very nice but for some reason yours really stood out to me, and it isnt that often that something like that happens! Where did u get it from?

this is funny! Maria B - Designer! LOL. But to be honest I went everywhere in Pak, from markets such as Ichra, moon market, rang mahal ( hit me if i go again), anarkali, liberty, defence to see about 8 designers, plus many more on MM alam rd etc!
the aim was, well my mum says, to see everything, before i made my decision, so i didnt have any regrets later, same with my families outfits, mehndi, walima etc etc
we went to all places for the first 4 days and made lists of prices/what had nice outfits etc etc so it was then easy to go back to that shop! my mum knew my taste but still took me everywhere for that piece of mind after we had finalised everything.
my walima outfit was non designer, but i loved it because it caught my eye as did my nikkah one - and it as 1/4 of the cost of my maria b one! Most guppies know my mum haggled 80,000 rupees off my maria b lenhga! Bargain!
