I’m worried and keep imagining losing my kids at the airport or one running off. I have a 2 yr old n a 1 yr old. And I’ll be going from pak to UK ( am sure you all know)
Am I normal to feel worried this way. Inshallah we will b fine

Re: am i the only one who feels this way
Airports are actually one of the safest places in the world to be at when it comes to that. Even if we assume the unlikely event that they would wander off, they would still be within a confined area with hundreds of security staff around. So eventually a 2 year old or a 1 year old walking around alone would attract some attention and an announcement would be made over the loudspeakers.

if the thought is really getting you down then just get a harness…have the little one in the stroller and the elder harnessed.
Re: am i the only one who feels this way
I have a harness she doesn’t like it!!!
I’ll be OK.I just wanted to know what other parents did when they went n if they felt the same as I am:
Re: am i the only one who feels this way
A couple years ago, me and my mom were coming back from Pakistan (Lahore) with my cousin who has 4 kids under the age of 5 (2 sets of twins). My cousin is very bay parwaa. Her husband was at the luggage counter and she had all 4 kids with her. I walked over to her after our luggage was checked in, and one of her older twins started crying and saying “mama the baby is lost” (one of the younger twins had wandered away). Instead of getting up and looking for him, she said to her son “instead of crying you should have stopped him”, but she still didnt get up to go look for him. I started looking around for him, and then out of nowhere a security guard came over with the baby.
Like someone else said above, its a confined area, and there are lots of security guards. Your kids cant wander too far before they get to another security check point and someone noticing them. But even if your older one doesnt like the harness, put her in it, it wont be long before you can take it off of her. Also, if your family knows someone who works at the airport, then you will get through security and luggage in no time if they all him ahead and have him acompany you. But even if you dont know anyone, get an older porter, and he will get you through in no time, so you wont have to worry about taking your attention away from the kids.

Thank u guys
I’m not be parwaa I’ll b holding onto my kids for life …
Re: am i the only one who feels this way
It helps to have 3-4 different toys/activities/books for kids to do during such trips. Helps keep them in one place.
Re: am i the only one who feels this way
Just sweet talk her into the harness. My daring 1.5 year old nephew didn’t like the harness either but when we took him to the beach, he was harnessed because he’s like a fish and runs into the water with no fear. My sis, just sweet talked him into it. When it comes to their safety, there are no ifs, ands, or buts. It’s our job to protect them. Plus, for your sake of peace while travelling such a distance with 2 kids alone, you need to fully utilize the harness or have your hubby come back to accompany you or pay for someone to accompany you.
