"Ya" means in our country"hazir Naazir" Do you think Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) is always there for you?
jahaan tak darood kaa taaluq hai only darood hai jo sirf aap Hazoor ko parh saktey hain and woh bhi farishtay un ko pohchantay hain but naats mein kabhi kabhi yeh garbar hai its really your belief but bohat saarey log yeh maantay hain ke hazrat Mohammad (SAW) her waqt haazir naazir hain and they don't mind saying "YA Rasulallah" which means ke aap hamein sun rahey hian and yeh baat yahaan finish nahi ho jaati I heard once a naat which "mein ne pukara almadad mohammad, to oobher gaya safina" what does this mean instead of ALLAH they are asking for Hazrat Mohammad's help. ab aap khud hi soch lo aap ne kaya choose kerna hai you prefer Hazrat Mohammad to help you instead of ALLAH or you prefer to respect Hazrat Mohammad (SAW) as a nabi and ask ALLAH for help.
Please also consider skipping the bolded parts from Tashahhud while you offer your prays. ![]()
I think you know the meanings of these words but do you know the history behind these words
where and when these words were said and who said it faizy:
chalo youn karo pehlay aap batao aap kaya jaantay ho? ![]()
I have been listening to lots of naats and nasheeds recently in place of my usual music and I've found that a lot of them contain the words Ya Rasoolallah Ya Habibullah Ya Mustafa etc. so I deleted these from my phone. As we are not supposed to call upon anyone other that Allah, is this shirk? I've now started to doubt some of my other naats which havent actually got those words in them but as they are partly in arabic I might not be understanding them right. And even the urdu ones are quite difficult to understand.

You need to directly refer to Al-Quran with good detailed translation for your questions. As long as you are reading with an open mind the answer will reveal it self to you. Follow it to the fullest.
Stay away from ancient scholars, they are responsible of our present day demise and firqa-wardi.

Do you even know the translation of the Kalima Shahdat. Unless the Wahabis/Ahl-e-Hadees/Deobandi/Jamat-Daw'ah has changed the tense in it - The Kalima still states that the Mohammad (PBUH) **is* the prophet of God*

Peace sister
Nothing is shirk until it is intended to be shirk knowingly or unknowingly. Ya means 'O' in Arabic.
The phrase: "Ya habib salamu 'alaika" means "O' beloved salutations of peace upon you"
In archaic language you would say 'O' such and such to people you were speaking to, but in poetic language it is normal to say 'O' to people who are not really present but are more present in your thoughts.
For example you leave your parents house and your mum forgot to pack the sandwiches, you look in the bag and say ... sighing ... "O mum!" Of course she can't hear you, but you are thinking of her in an exclaimed manner and hence you say "O".
In the case of Muhammad (SAW) if we keep him close in our thoughts it becomes natural that such statements will surface, but the intent is never to go that extra step and assert in real terms that Muhammad (SAW) has become hazir and nazir. Even this is not shirk because it could be due to Allah (SWT) that this mistaken belief manifests, what it is ... is however, misinterpretation by both the people who say "Ya Rasool" and by those who say it is shirk.
In the general sense it is not shirk at all.
