There’s a time when we all (well at least I did) try to be miss-two-goody-shoes.. trying to please evry1.. secretly hoping I am declared the best-person-of-the-year award..yawn.. being good to evry1..doing stuff that pleased ‘others’ regardless of whether I wanted to do that or not…….yadda yadda yaddaa…

Gosh.. am I grateful or am I grateful !! to be over with that b4 it was too late..U just can’t please every1 all of the time .. hell gimme a break.. YES, it feels good to be known as a nice person but it SUCKS, meanwhile, not to have a life!.. why let others steer ur life..they dun let u take control of theirs ..or do they?

This is sometimes referred to as playing the "martyr". Like a person who cant say no to people and always tries to please them. To some it may not be perceived as being selfish but in a way it is, as you have stated that compliments are received and other personal "benefits" attained.

Anyway, I fall in and out of this all the time. I think we should try to be nice with others, but I think we must also realize that we cant ever please everyone, and set some limits for ourselves. smile
