I think you have a very interesting point. I seriously never thought it the way you did but ofcourse certain Icons are simply attracted to you and you choose them. Well, I do not know what you think about me but I am certainly not blond :)
Mariah I hope it causes them to get rid of images. Though here is a deal, people will look at the images and will make an opinion about you. You can't stop that. You choose a image and you loose. So lets see:
Mariah = young woman who is quite clueless about almost everything in life. A little absent minded and tries very hard to fit in the crowd.
Najim, the point is not how you behave in real life. The point is what others on GUP think of you when they look at the image you chose. So lets see:

After reading WISE MAN comments about reflection of personality through icons, I am thinking isnt he doing same thing?
WEll first of all Mr "WISE MAN" is reflecting his own image as a some body intelllecutal. Why dont he comes with real name? HE has chosen a nick to reflect his personality.Whereas , All the guppies have gone step further to express or to show their image;Same thing as mr Wise Man did-reflected his image/personality thourgh descriptive name (nick).
I dont have atteniton to imply that chosing a Nick or Icon to reflect you image is bad.
One can never really reflect true him/her self over existing internet. ITs interactive and precptual constraints away from realities of life.
