Hey girls,
I have heard amazing things about the Clairisonic but with a $175-$200 price tag, it’s too pricey for me right now. Has anyone tried products like it that I can use until I can buy the real thing. Products that have worked wonders for their skin? In my mid 20s now and I have started to consistently break out when I never did before! I can never be without a pimple somewhere these days.
Re: Alternative Products for the Clairisonic
Olay and Neutrogena both have similar products with a much, much lower price. The Olay one has been raved a lot. I am going to be getting that one too because I don't find any point in spending so much money on a Clairisonic.
Do try the Oil Cleansing Method. It's been talked about a lot on these forums and really cleanses your skins helping control breakouts. That one really has helped me.
Re: Alternative Products for the Clairisonic
I was just thinking about alternates to Clarisonic today. Thanks for posting this.
Alternative Products for the Clairisonic
Your welcome! And thanks Aisha! That helps a lot, I am going to check out the Olay one Myra. What are the oil cleansing methods?
Re: Alternative Products for the Clairisonic
There is also the Philips Visapure brush... it's available inAustralia, don't know about the rest of the world. It's just a bit cheaper than the clarisonic
Re: Alternative Products for the Clairisonic
I bought my Clairisonic Mia for 125$ but its the most basic one. But my friend bought a used clairisonic online for around $45 I believe. And then she bought new brush heads for the Clairisonic for 25$. Ended up being around 70$. Which isn't a bad idea.

Wow thanks I've been looking for one too lately, has anyone used any of these alternatives ?
Re: Alternative Products for the Clairisonic
Do keep in mind that we would have to buy brush heads replacements from time to time adding to the expense.
Re: Alternative Products for the Clairisonic
I have the Olay and I don't like it at alllllll...I feel like its too harsh for my face.
It doesn't feel the same as the Clarisonic at all :(
Konjac sponge its an amazing thing. For 5€ only
Done some research, the Olay brush head spins whereas the Clarisonic and Phillips and Rio sonicleanse all just vibrate, this vibration is basically the idea of sonic cleansing... so just wondering whether using a spinning brush would be too harsh for skin (as reha mentioned) and make pores more visible also?
Re: Alternative Products for the Clairisonic
I have the Sirius Skin Sonic, the brush doesn't rotate and it also uses sonic vibrations the way the clarisonic does. I've been using it for about 6 months and its made a difference to my skin ( i have spot prone skin too!), though I think the key is it to ensure that you use it regularly. There are quite a few blogposts out there comparing the clarisonic to the skinsonic. If you're in the UK, boots sell it for around £60 but I think its slightly cheaper online...Hope that helps! :)
Re: Alternative Products for the Clairisonic
I have mia2 and I think its a nice investment! :) Though I don't use makeup at all on dialy basis but I do have an oily skin so I feel it cleanses my skin better and it just feels nice.
I wouldnt say its a must item though, more of a luxury for someone with a pretty normal=manageable skin. However, i'd think those who wear dialy makeup this is perhaps ideal to ensure the skin in skweky clean.

Oh but why? :( Also, it gets harsh with just the facewashes etc or if you use scrubs? There's a neutrogena one out too but the pads just seem like a hassle to me

You don't need the most expensive set they have. Ulta has the clarisonic Mia brush by itself for $99.
Hey girls, In my mid 20s now and I have started to consistently break out when I never did before! I can never be without a pimple somewhere these days.
If acne is your main problem, have you tried other cheaper things so see if they work? Such as glycolic creams or Retin A?
Re: Alternative Products for the Clairisonic
No I haven't, I don't know anything about good skin care. It's always been simple cleansers for me. What are those creams? It's not major acne but breakouts every week, more often than before.
Re: Alternative Products for the Clairisonic
Go to Ulta and get this:Alpha Hydrox AHA Souffle 12 Percent Ulta.com - Cosmetics, Fragrance, Salon and Beauty Gifts
Use the $3.50 off coupon they usually have so its even cheaper lol. Use this for a few weeks and see what difference it makes on your skin. Use it at NIGHT only……3-4x/week. If you skin gets too dry from this….then just reduce the # of days you use it. Use a sunscreen during the day since this has glycolic acid in it (it makes your skin more sensitive to sun damage).
BTW, how is your diet? Do you eat a lot sugary/fried foods?
What is daily skincare routine? What products have you tried or currently using?
