Alternative medicine is becoming increasingly popular and there are some reliable studies proving that they can be effective in treating some ailments and illnesses. Things like herbal medications, aromatherapy and acupuncture have been used for centuries to treat some ailments.
There are concerns about the side effects of some treatments, especially herbal medication, as they don’t undergo the rigorous testing that conventional medication has to undergo.
So, who has tried alternative medicine? What did you try and what did you use it to treat? Were you happy with the results or not? If conventional drugs weren’t helping with your ailment would you give alternative medicine a go?
I do think complementary therapy does have benefits, even if it doesn’t provide a cure it can help people deal with chronic, long term illnesses such as arthritis…therefore giving them a better quality of life.
I do beleive in complimentary medicines, and I do use them for some ailments. Last year I had a bad UTI(water infection) I had lots of anti biotics but I do feel that it was the homeopathic drops that really got the infection cleared up. I use the drops if and when required now without any side affects. Also my hubby used to suffer from bad hayfever he also had some drops, and last year didn't suffer but this year he did have symptoms.
Alternative med…hmm…I’ve heard the ‘Chinese’ medicines, quite famous in those parts…but they’ve wiped out species to do that.
I haven’t tried it, hmmm, well I think I did once or twice. You know when we cut the inside of our lip next to the gum and get an annoying painful feeling (I hope you know what I am talking about as I am doing a poor job of explaining it) well using baking powder gets rids of it almost instantly
