Compared to other current muslim nations, Pakistan is far more progressive and dare I say, a more Islamically run country. At least I don't need to deal with idiotic men who refuse to talk to me face to face because I'm a female and they think that females are beneath them to speak to (if Makkah and Medina were not in Saudia Arabia, I wouldn't even think of visiting that piece of crap of a country of idiot shephards).
But Pakistan has a lot of problems, as everyone well knows. So, no, its not anywhere close to being a model muslim country. But its probably a bit farther ahead than the living-in-this-century-is-haraam arab countries.
During the times of Medinah, when the faith was truly established in their hearts, and they knew what it means to be Muslims through their deeds and actions, only then the Muslims went on the offensive in every sphere.
I believe that the current state of the Muslims is reminiscent of the former one. Where, we have even forgotten who our Creator is. Muslims must act to strengthen their fundamentals before any success would come in their way, as a nation.

A model muslim country should be a country that is not in constant fear of jeapordizing Islam. By that definition, because Malaysia has long isolated itself by boycotting foreign culture it cannot be considered a model country. It might have nice shiny buildings and just the right amount of poverty, but no model country should be afraid of confronting the outside world.
There is no model country, one country may not have some problems of another, but they have some that the former does not, so give up the hope of ever having a model country anywhere, besides all this "good" & "evil" is a part of humanity, there will always be problems everywhere in every time period until the end of the world.
so they want a "muslim identity" yet they distance themselves from the ummah?
They love their mosques because they have made religion only a cultural identity ......is this what you want the pakistanis to do as well?
