Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain said Sunday that through a peaceful revolution we wanted to bring positive changes in the country for prosperity. **In a telephonic address, the MQM chief said no any force, including the political establishment can halt the way of our party in Punjab. No more dictation will be accepted now for a prosper and peaceful country, MQM has landed in Punjab and will be strengthened our party". **Altaf said that after coming into the power, MQM would enforce a uniform education system “Our government will provide free education till metric level,” he announced. Altaf vowed that “MQM will free the nation form the control of IMF.” He added that foreign invasion in the country would not be tolerated.

Calls for a peaceful revolutions dont look nice coming from a convicted murderer as per the Supreme Court of Pakistan, and an absconder. Altaf-jee should come to Punjab himself, we will all celebrate his 'baarthdaaay' that he is so fond of celebrating and he can blow out the candles while wishing for inquilaaaab.

altaf bhai is quite a drama baaz, all of a sudden he wants dialogue and acceptance of the taliban and is throwing anti-amreekan slogans. Koi haal nahee hai is ka.

Isnt it about time we gave someone new a chance? Havent we had enough of the Feudal landlords and Army? Is there any other alternative besides the usual characters? Could the MQM possibly screw the country over any worse the the PPP and PML have...

What a load of bollocks. His solution for Balochistan is hugging them. What a great plan. Hes like Amma. Also since when is MQM against capitalism? They are/were partners with Musharraf and PML(Q).. both significantly liberalized the Pakistani economy (and thats a good thing).

I never quite get MQM....it elicits such polarized reactions.....
Most sane people think it's a semi-terror organization which dabbles in politics, and then there are claims about middle class representation and infrastructure development in Karachi, it's so confusing.
Why can't they work towards shedding their mafia image and stop the madness in Karachi before asking the rest of Pakistan for votes? Honestly, Punjab might not exactly be heaven but I really attach a high value to the relative level of peace and target-killing free atmosphere in places like Lahore, Islamabad and Faisalabad. Its the MQM culture of politics of blood that goes against it the most.
