Re: Altaf steps down as party chief/ takes his resignation back (updated)
I agree Jaadugar. It's been 60years since the formation of Pakistan, lets all just be Pakistanis. And the struggle of Muhajirs is to be acknowledged, no doubt about it. But, who represents them makes a huge difference. *Altaf Hussain like criminals cannot and should not be allowed to speak for some of the most educated urdu speaking people. *
I believe they deserve better leadership, and i've always said if it wasn't for Altaf Hussain, MQM would probably accel and become a major national political party. It's time that they dump their flawed leadership and choose wisely a very candid leader who truly represents them and most important of all, is a Pakistani citizen. Is present in the country to speak for and account for his/her party, and not dictating terms and giving telephonic speeches over the phone.
It's ridiculous that all the political affiliates are within the country, and MQM being a unique political party should have its leader outside Pakistan. What for? Why doesn't he return to his country and represent his "people" that he so emotionally claims to be attached to.
Yes that has been my point all along. Urdu-speaking people as an ethnic group are the most-educated people in Pakistan. Hence they dominate the electronic and print media. The high standard and quality of Karachi and Lahore (because of an influx of urdu-speaking people) plays and dramas compared to other TV stations for instance is there for everyone to see. But can't the strong well-educated urdu-speaking elite in Pakistan find someone better than this goon to represent them, someone with finesse, someone more polished, educated and presentable....and aboveall does not speak like someone who has just been released from a mental prison under section blah blah of the mental health act.
