Altaf asks Modi to speak out for Muhajirs in Karachi
LONDON: Prime Minister Narendra Modi should speak out for the rights of Muhajirs in Karachi, the self-exiled Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain said on Thursday, The Indian Express reported.
He said Modi had failed to speak out for the people who lived in India for centuries.
“I would like to register my complaint with the Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, as I regret to say, you never raise your voice for your own people who lived in India for centuries. Our forefathers made a big mistake and migrated to Pakistan, but we were born here, and never accepted as Pakistani or sons of soil. Mr. Prime Minister you should have raised your voice for your own people in Karachi, Pakistan,” he added.
The MQM leader called on India to raise MQM’s issues at all international and human rights fora.
Our staff reporter from Karachi adds: Reacting to the statement of Altaf Hussain, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan Rabita Committee on Friday said their forefathers had not only been in the forefront of the movement for creation of Pakistan, but also sacrificed hundreds of thousands of lives in this regard.
The committee said Muhajirs always took pride in being Pakistanis and the hearts of their children beat for the beloved motherland.
It said any individual or group had no right to call into question the patriotism of Mujahirs by making calls for help to the Indian prime minister.
The committee condemned Altaf Hussain’s call and renewed the party’s commitment to fail all enemy conspiracies against Pakistan and the Muhajir community.
AH lost his sanity long back. I guess he gets his mental balance for a brief time of the day thanks to all the meds. Otherwise he’s mostly not in senses.
But there are people who are still scared of him and think of him as a mammoth leader which clearly he is not. Nor his party has any popularity as before. But some of his close associates are selling this to distant people including british govt. But the day they realized the fact that AH is a lost character they’ll kick him out too.

He is lying. Actually he and his cronies never accepted Sindhis and Sindh their land. Instead of merging with local population they preferred to keep separate identity. For them Sindhis were schedule castes, red Indians whom they wanted to dominate the majority of population, tried their best to block the Sindhi language and thousands of years of Sindhi rich culture. Old Pakistani movies showed their culture derived from kothas and we learnt in our schools that people sent thier children to ‘kothas’ to learn manners.
It is likes of him who didnt let the society integrate and created divisions and marketed their selves as sole massiah.
These kinds are not limited to Altaf, every community have got their share of Altafs…who sell hatred…but Altaf caught attention of external powers…hence sitting in London
You have to watch his recent interview with Hamid Mir. The arrogant pharaoh b@st@4d of Sindh never booked for any corruption case though remained in jail for 9 years. The problem is whole system is corrupt. Look at Panama Leaks, NS should be facing courts and jail terms for money laundering of millions of dollars. SC has not released judgement. Why? Pakistan has created more demons than angles. It is unfortunate, the more you are corrupt in Pakistan the more you are respectful now. This unfortunate country is cursed.
