Re: Altaf hussain Updates | Granted Pak Passport
Police is not obliged to release a person on bail, especially just after 9 hours of questioning. Anyhow:
Leave enough evidence to convict Altaf Hussain, if there were reasonable reason for police to believe that Altaf Hussain is involved in crime, especially murder, then police is guilty of releasing a criminal and putting life of many in danger … and also left a criminal to interfere with evidences or neutralise them.
I do not think British police are incompetent idiots to do that. If Police wanted to make stronger case, they could have kept Altaf Hussain in custody and then would have gone for creating stronger case, but they would only do that if they think they have no credible sufficient evidences to get conviction. If there are enough credible evidences to get conviction, police do not bother about any further or stronger evidences as sufficient evidence suffice conviction.
Reason is that, police in UK do not take things personal (in most cases) to struggle for stronger evidences, rather they go for sufficient credible evidences that can bring conviction.
On the other hand, judges do not give judgment on police evidences, but it is jury, and jury see that police have not taken things personally, bias or over-enthusiastic to get someone convicted.
Anyhow … as for murder charges to stand in British court, police have to provide unquestionable evidence that person has given order to murder … like a note in his own writing or voice recording … and in such case a person can be charged of abetting to murder (Z A Bhutto was charged due to same reason), and not murder.
For charges as murderer, a person has to commit murder personally, without any doubt.
So, think before making comments.
I don’t think they have enough evidence against Altaf Hussain for the murder of Imran Farooq, but there is enough evidence to convict him of money laundering. Altaf Hussain was in police custody for more than 7 hours (not 9), even in hospital he was in police custody. I think he was in custody for close to 72 hours.
In a criminal case the burden of proof is greater and in a high profile case police would want to take their time and cover every angle. There will be other people involved as well and they would also need to be investigated.
