Why ANP did not turn up on CJ lastest visit to Karachi? ANP people were fully armed when they came to Malir on the morning of December 27 and it was only that they were over taken by MQM people on that day. Otherwise they were there to rage fighting with MQM and they got nothing to do with CJ's reception.
Let me recall my memory:
It was time of dictator Zia-ul-Haq
MQM was newly founded
Jhanday Ali Shah was Chief Minister (I forgot his real name, it was his nick). He is now with NS.
A student girl was killed by a minibus in Nazimabad.
MQM started burning of minibuses owned by Pukhtoons and attacked their houses. Pukhtoons reacted sharply in Sohrab Goth and started their revenge.
These were more like communal riots and no one can prove involvement of ANP. As far I remember PPI (Punjabi Pukhtoon Itehad) was formed after these riots.
Let me recall my memory:
A student girl was killed by a minibus in Nazimabad. MQM started burning of minibuses owned by Pukhtoons and attacked their houses. Pukhtoons reacted sharply in Sohrab Goth and started their revenge.
That particular incident happened in April 1985.
The one I am mentioning happened unprovkedly on December 14, 1986 at Ali Garh Colony near Banaras. And now we have an ANP MPA from this area.

And for your information, MQM was not popular in 1985. MQM came in picture in August 1986.

The December 14, 1986 was a well planned and unproveded attack on Ali Garh Colony that started at very early in the morning and contined till afternoon when army came in to rescue the people. But by that time hundred of people have been killed and many houses were burnt.
Later retaliatory riots started in the city and almost all the city was placed under curfew.

Mostar Bhai no one like that kind of communal riots where Muslim communities burn their family members alive. In Islam even non-Muslim communities are safeguarded and killing of women and children are forbidden even in war time.
You have to remenber though, ANP is a national party formed by Abdul Ghaffar Khan formally known as Sarhadi Gandhi. Where as MQM is purely based on ethnicity representing only people who migrated from India. Still there is no objection as long they respect others' lives and their properties.

Sohrab goth incident happened on the afternoon of October 31, 1986 when AH was leading a rally towards Hyderabad. The pukhtoons and afghans of Sohrab goth probably after provoking slogans by the MQM people, opened fired on the rally and killed some 6 MQM workers.

But here on GS almost everyone keeps on ranting that only MQM and muhajirs keep on killing other people of Pakistan which is by no mean true. It is in fact the other way round on many occasion when muhajir people have been virtually butchered by other communities in Karachi and Sindh.

Mostar, thats because we blame the party responsible for the majority of the crimes, and thats the MQM.
See the difference. That is what I am talking about.
If there was any laxity in law ,there would be a gun culture in India aswell.
But it does not mean that India is exclude from the list I gave earlir.Almost all countrie's political parties have engaged in this. sadly................. :( Not MQM alone.

By boycotting resolution in Sindh assembly, they have only helped the cause. MQM is interested in staying in power, had they voted against impeachment resolution (i.e. voted for Musharraf) PPP would've got mad and probably kicked out MQM from govt. PPP-MQM love is not strong, it only needs a tiniest excuse for separation.

And before you term that as a coincidence, in the very next election after 2 years, the MQM switched sides to the winning party again.

Malik Sahib, you seems to be Neutral Person.
Whatever happened in Past, it is past and MQM was NOT ALONE Responsible.
But during last 8 years of Musharraf, MQM has proved that it could be Positive FORCE.
Remember, neither MQM presented any Illegal Deman to Musharraf (like people accuse MQM for JinahPur) nor Musharraf accepted any such Illegal Demand. But still there was Total Peace and Development during 8 years of Musharraf (contrary to all 4 Eras of PPP and Nawaz).
Doesn't question arises in mind "WHY"?
How was Musharraf able to bring peace to Karachi without firing even a Single Bullet?
People must think about it and then they would be able to find the Truth about both Musharraf and MQM. Insha-Allah.
