Altaf Bhai says people of Sindh will never let Talibanisation of Karachi.

Monster and Saleem Bhai, I think it is a test for Muhajir leadership as how wisely does it manage the situation. As the dominent community, it should play a truly wise and visionary role in order to keep Karachi united and integrated.

What is happening in Pakistan and the region is fall-out from an intricate and brutal game of geopolitics. There are too many conflicting interests stirring up our region.(US, NATO,India, Iran, Saudis, Russia, China, Pakistan, and you name it). I don’t think there would be peace and political settlement on our terms.

I think Karachi and NWFP+FATA are the next battle grounds for a new South Asian order to be decided.

Whoever is aggravating the situation in Karachi and FATA+NWFP is doing bad.

What I want to say is evident from the following articles:

Battle lines move from Kashmir to Kabul
By M K Bhadrakumar

There is wide acclaim today among Indian strategic analysts and diplomatic editors that New Delhi has scored a major diplomatic victory in Afghanistan and that its “influence” in Kabul has “peaked”. This victory has come on the back of Washington’s strategic pro-India tilt and, in the period since end-2001 to date, India’s earmarking of a staggering US$1.2 billion as assistance for Afghan “reconstruction”…

Following is an excerpt from another article.

“But today very sophisticated terrorist attacks are being planned, organised and funded in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata). The attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul involved very sophisticated explosives that have never been used by mujahideen or Taliban, and the Taliban denied being responsible. The attack on President Hamid Karzai in April also involved very sophisticated planning and financing. The records of the mobile phones of those involved show they were constantly telephoning to Pakistan. There is a lot more evidence that very sophisticated terrorist acts are being organised in camps in Fata. By the way, the UN conducted a study of suicide bombings in Afghanistan and concluded that they were organised and planned in Fata (http://www.unama-afg.org/docs/_UNDocs/UNAMA%20%20SUICIDE%20ATTACKS%20STUDY%20-%20SEPT%209th%202007.pdf.) Pakistan’s only response was for its UN representative to demand that the report be taken off the UN website. Pakistan is not just opposing the Northern Alliance or the US – it is standing alone against the UN and NATO”.

**"Russia’s strategic bombers to patrol Indian Ocean **

Russian strategic bombers may soon start patrolling the Indian Ocean, said Colonel General Alexander Zelin, commander-in- chief of Russia’s Air Force, a few days before a joint U.S.-India exercise kicks off.
Russia, like the U.S., ceased strategic patrols in 1992, but 15 years later decided to resume the practice - on August 17, 2007 its aircraft flew their first patrol missions over five areas. They have only made one demonstration flight to the Indian Ocean, while patrols over the North Atlantic and the Pacific continue…"
