Someone mentioned these to me. I don’t know how accurate these are or if infact they have any basis.
Any truth to the above?
The point, the gentleman was making, was that those muslims who are living in USA, earning a living, and bringing up their families in a non-muslim land, without any of the reasons mentioned above, are violating this islamic principle, and it is best for all muslims to leave USA at the earliest.
Unfortunately, the gentleman, didn't give any real evidence. He prefixed his argument by the all-inclusive term "Scholars of Islam are unanimous in their opinion that a muslim can not live in a non-muslim land excpet..."
And yes, the gentleman did convey the meaning that trade, education and mujahid can not stay indefinitely. Rather they should stay till their mission is complete and then go back to a "muslim land".
The way he defined it, a muslim land is any land where the muslims are a present or past ruler. By this definition, it doesn't matter what sort of ruling system they have right now, it is still a muslim land. So India is a muslim land, and so is Spain, Jerusalem, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Pakistan, just as a few examples. All are "muslim land".
Since this is the first time, I had heard of such a thing, so I hope many of our highly knowledgable participants on this forum can provide some additional input.

I agree with these points, and confirms with the beleif I have on this issue.

But doesn't the whole world and the unvierse (the heavens and the earth) belong to Allah?? According to Islam, everything is created by Allah, right? We're all Muslims right? Followers of Allah's commands, right?
Then by the logic that this world is Allah's land, and since we're followers of His commands, this whole world is a MUslim land, isn't it?
So, I don't really believe in what this guy is saying unless he brings concrete references .
By the way, where is this gentleman staying? Is he in a "Muslim land" or "Non-muslim land"?
The gentleman was in a "non-muslim land" i.e. America, and he was here visiting on a mission of da'wah (calling people to Islam). I think he only stayed in America for 2-3 weeks and then went back to Cairo or some other place. :)
I thought these points are without basis, but now Changez agrees to them, so I will like to know more evidence from him. RSVP. Thanks!
