allergic reaction

to I don’t know what … and my eyes have been puffy for a few days now :frowning: i look so wierd … any ideas for an external application to reduce swelling and wrinkling :frowning: im taking an anti-allergy medicine.

Re: allergic reaction

just keep taking claritin.

Re: allergic reaction

catwoman, I would recommend a visit to the dermatologist who can give you an allergy test. This way you will know what you are allergic to. It's good to know these things in the long run.

Re: allergic reaction

Munni i had one of those done in my teens, and nothing came up. But this is the first time its happened around my eyes :(

whats claritin? im taking reactine.

Re: allergic reaction

CLARITIN is a non-drowsy anti-histamine. you can get it over-the-counter at most grocery stores.

Re: allergic reaction

I'm allergic to everything. Claritin doesn't work for me but benadryl (diphenhydramine)works wonders. . . but it does make you drowsy. Maybe you should take that? ? ?

Re: allergic reaction

don't talk to me about benadryl! i took two of those on sunday, and it conked me out like noones business - i felt weak, nauseous and sick the whole day!!! if anyone mentions benadryl to me i will puke!!

Re: allergic reaction

well i wanted non-internal solutions. i have two doctors at home here, who have advised me not to worry - so my problem is purely for aesthetic reasons!!!

Re: allergic reaction

Put a cold wet towel over your eyes to reduce the swelling effect. I have one of those eye masks from The Body Shop. Whenever I have any puffiness, I stick it in the freezer for a few minutes and wear that.

You are having allergies. Anti-histamine will also work ...

Re: allergic reaction

ooh, shouldve told me earlier.... i just got back from Fairview Mall :) anyway, it seems less, and I have been using an icepack which is helping.

Re: allergic reaction

^ my husband's eye has been swollen for a day or two too! Maybe something in the air?

Re: allergic reaction

i think you might have hay fever. i have it too...and it peaks at spring time when all the grass, flowers and trees are growing. it's the pollen in the air that i'm allergic too - so when i wake up in the morning, my eyes are itchy, my nose is running everywhere, and i can't stop sneezing.

it's actually just been a few years since it started happening to me. never had it happen before in all my years. i personally don't take anything for it. i'm not a fan of poppin' pills. it just passes as the day goes on...until the next morning, of course :D

Re: allergic reaction

^ ack don't say that ... actually mine has been severe since sunday. It wasn't a pretty sight.

Re: allergic reaction

try CLARITIN you big dummy.

ask the two docs in your family, they should be very familiar with it.

Re: allergic reaction

aww..well i hope you get better soon. keeping fingers crossed ...although it does last about a month or so ... :p
