Allah Will Protect Me

Allah Will Protect Me

Once Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was taking rest under a tree when he was returning from an expedition and hung his sword from the tree. A Non-Muslim person came quietly, took hold of the sword and, addressing the Prophet said to him: “O Muhammad! now who will save you from my hand?” The Prophet heard it, rose up from his seat and said: “Allah will save me.” Hearing the name of Allah, he was overawed and the sword slipped from his hand. The Prophet rose up from his place, took the sword into his hand and questioned him: “Now who will save you from my hand?” He felt sorry and begged apology. The Prophet forgave him. He was so impressed by this kindness that he embraced Islam. He then went to his tribesmen and expressed that he never found a man better than Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Source: “The Miracles of the Prophet” by Shaikh Ahmed S. Dehalvi; also related in Bukhari and other sources with slight variations.

Related to the protection of the Prophet Muhammad, Allah has mentioned in the Quran “O Apostle! proclaim the message which has been sent to you from your Lord. If you do not do it, you would not have fulfilled and proclaimed this mission. And Allah will defend you against men who mean mischief. For Allah guides not those who reject faith.” (Al Quran 5:67).

Can I question the authenticity of this fairy tale?

A Prophet while returning from an expedition is attacked by an irritant person.

Now you tell me how come the Prophet was absolutely alone while returning from an expedition, most probably from a battle expedition?
Is not it strange that the Prophet has started a new religion, and most of the time he has to face opposition from local established religions of the day, and more over this Prophet is busy in power struggle…he is alone and attacked?

There is no need to give a person like you any explanation. What has been said above is 100% authentic. Go and learn some Islam with an open heart. You might learn something, instead of criticising for the sake of criticising!

Ya Yahudi! Swera has already given you the reference. As for your commemts “and more over this Prophet is busy in power struggle…he is alone and attacked?”

Doesn’t every assassin go for the head of any organization? Did not the Yahudis go for Isa ibn Maryum? Prophet Muhammad (saw) did not go around with body guards.

Take a break. Please make it a long one.

Thanks for sharing ... :-)

This was quoted in Bukhari? i must have missed it. It’s a nice Hadith, thank you so much for sharing it with us :flower1: :flower1:

God does indeed protect His followers :k:

I know a noble story on Buddha’ life.

A dacoit (don’t remember his name) found Buddha alone in a jungle, wanted to kill him and shouted at him, ‘Stop’, Buddha answered, ‘I have stopped long back, when will you stop.’
These words made a brilliant affect on the dacoit and he became Buddha’ follower.

And I want to tell you that Buddha was not carrying a sword or dagger, he did not need to, as he was not after power and his massage of peace meant non-violence, a complete non-violence.
This story in fact is more reliable.

Thanks all who liked it....

& for you "yahudi" I think Islambad & other said what I would!

So..I think u should read this a few more times maybe you'll understand some of it!!!

So my cousin, are you saying that Ha-shim (Musa (AS)) should have followed Buddha? And he should have left alone those 40,000 jews who started worshiping the cattle?

and by the way my story is more reliable because its from the Torah.

Yahudi, where is the reference of the authentication of this childhood fable? Anyway, if you want to believ in Budha, go ahead knock your self out. While you are at it, do all of us a big favor and find a board that is suitable for your religious practise.

Buddha, like Christ, taught that we should not return ill-will with ill-will, but that we should pacify ill-will with loving-kindness. Great lessons to be learned by any religous practice on any board.

DOn't believe everything you read.

Maybe we should start practsing it... Why attack Iraq? Why did not we showed the great restraint taught by Christ?

Hollow words coming from people who like nothhing more to dominate the world.

so by attackin iraq, the us is following in the footsteps of mohammad?

How did you come to that conclusion? US is following in the footsteps of Hitler....different cause... genocide Vs world domination(Capitilisim).

genocide is a tactic, capitalism is a philosophy. Do learn to discern.

There is a greater parallel to mohammad's techings, eye for eye etc then it is with Jesus or Buddha. As long as we are trying to link prophets and such to actions of followers. Who do you think had a more peaceful message? One that shuns violence or one that carries a sword around.

the very fact that Mohammad even contemplated to kill another person is not too exalting a trait when compared to say somelike like Buddha.

This is the religion board, dude, there are plenty of threads available in WA to criticize the US (as you are well aware). I was speaking on a personal, spiritual level. But when a country searches for peace, it would be best suited to try and follow these teachings instead of divine permission to kill others. I don't know what country does this however.
