"Allah will not accept the excuse...."

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Allah will not accept the excuse of any person whose instant of death is delayed till he (or she) reaches the age of sixty years.”

[Collected by Al-Bukhari, vol. 8, #428]

[Explanation: “I will start praying Salah and will do the Hajj (pilgrimage) when I get old,” is a statement made by our parents and the adults, in probably every Muslim family today. Subhan-Allah! Does anyone of us know whether we will be able to live long enough in the first place? And even if we do live up to the age of sixty, what guarentee is there that all our previous sins will be forgiven by then, if we don’t start practicing Islam now? That’s why the Prophet (pbuh) warned us in this Hadith that such a person will not have the right to say on the Day of Judgment, “If Allah had given me another lease of life, I would have done good deeds,” because he or she has been given a life long enough for him or her to do righteous deeds.]

“Indeed whosoever purifies himself shall achieve success, and remembers (glorifies) the name of his Lord and prays”
Quran 87:14-15

Thnkx for sharing !!!

*"I will start praying Salah and will do the Hajj (pilgrimage) when I get old," is a statement made by our parents and the adults, in probably every Muslim family today. Subhan-Allah! Does anyone of us know whether we will be able to live long enough in the first place? And even if we do live up to the age of sixty, what guarentee is there that all our previous sins will be forgiven by then, if we don't start practicing Islam now? *

show the weakness of faith !!!

This problem is widespread in the Muslim community.

What in your mind is the cause of this and what is the solution.?

I think that the cause of this is that Islam is not intellectually proven to us. Once Islam is proven then we would want to see the Islamic solutions applied in every situation in life. Prayer would become easy and so would staying away from all haram because once you're mind is convinced that something will bring you harm i.e. hellfire then you would not do it.

The next step will be that this person will be agitated by living under a system which does not give them Islamic solutions i.e. does not protect them from haram and will only be happy when they are living under the shade of the khilafah.

what do you mean Islam has to be proven to us???? THere are so many examples that show the miracles of the Qur'an. These examples clearly state that Islam is the true religion.

If you ask someone who doesn’t pray to prove Islam they wont be able to.

Like proving the Qur’an like this:

The Qur’an the Word of God.

If the Qur’an is the word of God, and a miracle proving the Prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh) we must look carefully at this book and establish without doubt its authenticity. It is well known that the pagan Arabs of the time of Muhammad (pbuh) were great poets and writers of the Arabic language. It was common at the time for them to go into the dessert to study arabic and write poetry and prose with which to entertain each other. They held the Arabic language with all its fluidity and depth of expression in great esteem. When the revelation started to come to Muhammad (pbuh) in his fortieth year it was the style of language which set the revelation apart from anything that had been before or indeed since.

The unshakable proof of the authenticity of the Qur’an as the word of God is in its style of language. From the first verse:

“Read: In the name of thy Lord who createth, Createth man from a clot. Read: and thy Lord is tile Most Bounteous, Who teaches by the pen, teaches man that which he knew not” TMQ 96:1-5 ]

Through to the very last verse revealed:

"And fear the day when you shall be brought back to Allah. Then every soul be paid what it earned, and none shall be dealt with unjustly. " TMQ 2:281 ]

The Qur’an remaills complelely at the height of eloquence, rhetoric, and coherent expression. It acts as one complete piece, with the slyle the same as if it, is one sentence, with perfect arrangements and strong plain text. The expressions brought were not known to the Arabs at the time or before that time, and matters cannot be expressed that have not been previously felt. One of the disbelieving Arab poets of the time Walid ibn Al Mughira said after hearing the Qur’an:

“By God: None of you is more conversant than I with poetry, melodious hymns, and songs, and by God never did I hear anything similar to which he says. It is so sweet, and so graceful that it remains at the summit with nothing to surpass it.”

The Qur’an is in a literary style that no human can approach or match. Its style the Arabs can not match, and it is this challenge which God has set forth within the Qur’an.

“Say: verily though mankind and the Jinn should assemble to produce the like of this Qur’an, they could not produce the like thereof though they were helpers one of another” TMQ 17:88 ]

"Or they say: He has invented it ? Say: then bring a Surah like unto it and call (for help) on all ye can besides Allah if you are truthful " TMQ 10:38 ]

It is this challenge to all that doubt, that has remained unanswered in over 1400 years since this revelation. Not one scholar of the Arabic language either Muslim or non-Muslim has been able to write even one small chapter or paragraph in the same style of arabic to that of the Qur’an. The Arabs are either able to imitate the style of the Qur’an or not, if they could then the book is clearly the work of men like them. If not then there are only two other possible sources Muhammad (pbuh), or God.

Muhammad (pbuh) was of Arab origin but never claimed to be the author of the Qur’an. In fact he was never challenged as its author, it can be seen clearly from Hadith Mutawatir (definitely confirmed sayings of Muhainmad (pbuh) - narrated word for word) of which there are many hundreds that the style of language in Muhammad ’ s (pbuh) speech and the Qur’an are very different. And no matter how hard one tries, one’s style of speech cannot he completely altered consistently, and certainly not over a period of 23 years in which the Qur’an was revealed. The only accusation ever levelled at Muhammad (pbuh) was that he received it from a Christian youth called Jaber. As a response to this allegation God revealed:

“We know indeed that they say, 'It is a man that teaches him. ’ The tongue of him they wickedly point to is notably foreign, while this is Arabic, pure and clear.” TMQ 16:103 ]

Since it is the style of the Arabic language that is the miracle of the Qur’an, how can the non-Arab speaker confirm this fact’? Just as the foreign student studies Shakespeare from the English language scholar, so too should the English speaker refer to the scholars of arabic for the true confirmation of the height of eloquence and style of the Qur’an. The language serves as a constant reminder over the ages, and also the consistent style has ensured that nothing could be added to the Qur’an.

Indeed God has promised that the book would be protected, and there are copies of the most ancient manuscript which are letter for letter the same as all copies today.

"Lo! We, even We, reveal the reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian " TMQ 15 : 9 ]

As the Qur’an is the word of God, sent to mankind as a guide for all affairs, and as it is protected and completely consistent throughout, then anything the book refers to can be taken as a complete truth. The existence of paradise and hellfire cannot be derived from rational evidence as we cannot as yet perceive them, to believe in them comes in a traditional way, however belief in them is based upon a rationally derived belief which proves the divine source of the Qur’an. This is referred to as use of transformative evidence. Therefore all that the Qur’an definitely refers to can be taken as truth without any hesitation.

“And we have not sent thee (O Muhammad) save as a bringer of good tidings and a warner unto all mankind, but most of mankind know not” TMQ 34:28 ]

The Qur’an and the Sunnah ( path and direction of Muhammad (pbuh) ) act as the source of Shari 'ah in Islam, as rationally confirmed sources of God 's law mankind is obliged to follow them in all details. This basis is the creed or doctrine upon which all actions in life should be referred.

Praise be to Allah.

Assalam-0-Elaikum:-

MAy Allah reward you for putting a very good hadeeth here and raising a very important topic.

I was listening to this scholar’s cassettes and in that he said that Allah will surely ask People about how did they spend five things and among those five things is the youth age. Allah will ask a person where did one spend their young age doing what deeds.

It is also very obvious that at a young age, a person is strong as compared to when one is old. So at this time the prayers are properly done and fasting is properly done and hajj is properly done where as when a person is old, the bones ache and there are several physical reasons that make the person less active in any of the activities.

Just a reminder to myself and to all our Brothers and respected sisters. Please make use of every single bit of time and never be lazy in following/practicing Quran and Sunnah. Result Inshallah := Paradise

Ws’salams.

That is a serious problem. Most of us believe in God, call ourselves Muslims but there is no inner-conviction. We do call ourselves Muslims but we are not willing to "submit to God", that which this exactly means.

We need not to be Muslims because we are born one, rather be convinced that that is the ultimate Truth. The resultant of such a blind belief is inner fear and insecurity which causes much trouble when we learn that a certain belief within ourself is not consistent with religion for example. We wish to prove it somehow or the other. We cannot hold intellectual discussions with non-Muslims or even Muslims for the same reason. We lack reason.

Belief in God cannot be proven, nothing can really be proven. But then science itself does not prove anything, it argues. It argues gravity, it argues force. These things cannot be proven and never have been. Science believes in it because of its experience, two things always attract, force proportional to their masses. Light is supposed to have dual nature, because in some cases it behaves one way, in another it behaves another way - all based on pure observation. No proof whatsoever. Same goes for God and religion, it is to be reasoned and cannot be proven. You can sit and hear both sides of the story, and choose that which makes most sense. Effort, honesty and objectivism are the essence of the process and the most crucial elements. At the end, what you believe in is the Truth.

Omer

I think that these kinds of people believe that because their name is muslim, that means that they ARE muslim. These people need a wake up call!!!

"This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. " al-Qur'an 5:3
