Allah pendants

Should one take off their Allah necklace before entering a washroom?
And what are the rulings on wearing one? Is it permissible?

Re: Allah pendants

some scholars have said u shouldnt wear it because it is disrespecful...but if u are wearing one then it is best to remove it when u go to the lavatory because it is a place where jinns are etc and it is a place where u shouldnt speak unless it is necessary..

Re: Allah pendants

thts stupid to even askkk..r u gonna take it offf everytime u go use the restroom..and secondly..just wearing Allah pendant arround ur neck doesnt really mean u have respect for him...Allah shld be in ur heart..do u take him out of ur heart everytime u go use the restroom..i hope not

Re: Allah pendants

Ok… and um, are you supposed to take it off during that time of the month?

Aana-How is that stupid?? It’s a legitimate question.. I’ve heard it’s disrespectful therefore i’m asking for hadith or islamic references not your opinion

Re: Allah pendants

oh i am sorry then..cuz tht was just my opinion..i am gonna let someone else answer ur questions then cuz i really cant really back myself up with any islamic references.

Re: Allah pendants

Good.

Re: Allah pendants

Can you clarify .. what month are you on about …theres 12 in a year ..pick one !

and really .. why would you wana wear an Allah pendant for in the first place … Taaweez is understandable .. and even wit taweez you should take it off when going to the bathroom …

Re: Allah pendants

I dont wear one, but have gotten one as a gift... I'm contemplating wearing it, therefore I wanna know the facts first. Jeez.
And what's a taveez???

And I'll wait for a female to answer the first half of my question.

Re: Allah pendants

oh right i get what ya mean its fine u can wear it at that particular time but i wouldnt because of the fact its disrespectable and theres other ruilings at that time like u cant fast or pray or touch the Quran etc

Re: Allah pendants

Okeydoke... thanks. I think it'll be better if I just don't wear it...

Re: Allah pendants

good idea.....

Re: Allah pendants

Sabriya,
although there is no Quranic ayet regarding this.
logically, it is naturally better to take the necklace off.
when you take a shower, take it off as you dont want the Allah necklace run water goes down a drain.

Re: Allah pendants

once heard about Ibne Baaz..very respectable scholar of saidia that its better to take off taveez while going to washroom …regardings girls particular ruling about that part…i cannot say anything with surity…you can search it on www.islam-qa.com or www.sunnipath.com etc…and in search section write taveezwashroom or any appropriate words …and you will be instantly directed to the answers
and Allah knows best.
wasalam.

Re: Allah pendants

but you're always saying duas and stuff...granted you can't pray and fast and touch the quran during that time of the month, you're still saying duas for everthing (waking up, sleeping, eating, bathing etc etc), you're still saying bismillah, and you're still saying alhamdulilah etc etc. and there are duas for entering the bathroom, for leaving the bathroom and all taht stuff, so in that line of the thought, why remove the pendant when you're menstruating? and why remove it when you're entering the bathroom

Re: Allah pendants

^^ may be you are right...cannot say with surity ..as i do not much about that....

Re: Allah pendants

Reciting duas is different to written dua's on paper. As far as i know and i did go to the trouble of asking more knowledgable people, you can't touch the written ayat during periods. You can recite Quran , but written material has to be respected. I think similar ruling would apply on a pendant.
