i know this is a pretty vague question considering there are a lot of good players throughout the world in many different leagues - I was just trying to get a feel for who you guys thought were the best soccer players currently.

  • I think he's well over the hill -ersonally. He adds nothing to Madrid anymore and i always have found him to be overrated anyways.

** Injuries worry me - he looks fat and I would like to know how many goals he would score if he didn't have 2 of the best, if not the best, playmakers in Beckham and Zidane around him.

*** Don't know where to put Zidane - he should make the list - but I consider him a forward more than a midfielder - and i would rather have the strikers i mentioned above Zidane.

that is just impossibe. you can't possibly compare Shearer to zidane....Zidane is three classes higher.

why is Ballack runner-up to davids? Ballack is an attacking midfielder, Davids a defensive: ud rather choose Vieria, Gattuso, emre

NeSCio - i just can't put down my legend Shearer - as i said the Zidane is more of defender than mf - so i will stick by that - oh yeah i wouldn't ruled out biased in me. :D

ballack is better as a playmaker - he can do everything that Vieira can just as well and is a MUCH better scorer himself.

Even this season Ballack has scored 7 times already in 25 games and Veira compared to that only twice in 27 games.

The season before Ballack had 10 goals in 26 games, Viera 3 in 24 games.

The season before that Ballack had 17 goals in 27 games, Vieira 2 in 34 games.

In Leverkusen Ballack played behind the attackers mostly and Emerson played behind Ballack - but is he possibly the best header in the world? NO - Viera is
