Feeling really down today. I'd been working out and eating non-fatty foods for the past 5 days but ruined the hard work by killing a whole chocolate cake today. Guess I have to make it up by working out non stop for 2 hours.
Interestingly, while standing in a line at starbucks this morning, all I could think was “why do we create lines?”
If you think about it from the rational theory perspective, if humans are rational, than to achieve a goal they should be willing to do anything to actually attain it. Standing in a line means you are thinking about a group not yourself, which according to rational theory, makes you irrational.
So who WAS the first person to realize that creating a line which leads to a mutual goal for a “group of people” can be better than all the people in a group only thinking about “themselves?”
*Lady behind the counter, “chai latte with a shot of espresso, have a great day.” End thought.
