I went to the last August 14th Mela in DC there ever was. And after that, the state authorities said that the organization (whatever organization it was that put together the mela) would no longer be allowed to hold the Pakistani Independence Day event due to all the mess and disorganization they had to deal with during and after the event. All the desis would come, have fun, and not clean up after themselves, so now they no longer do one. It’s a shame. :bummer:

But anyways, I know the one in New York this year is going to be on the 26th. And I think they’ll probably have one in Virginia because there’s so many desis there…probably in either gaithersburg, richmond, or fairfax.

^ DUDE omg I was JUST at the embassy this past weekend! My sister got an invitation from one of her friends to go see Sadequain’s artwork. It was pretty neat, but the set-up wasn’t at all what I had expected. The embassy is pretty plain for the most part. =\

So then we went to the DC Zoo. And I saw the elephants there they were soooo big! :dannyboy:

its on the 25 a fashion show with a lot of designers and some sorta cultural show..I know abt 400 people r invited...Im planning to be there too:D

DC mela’s were the best…after those ended I stop going to any one em!! the one’s they have now are small and boring.
