I’ve been visiting the Religion and Politics Forum for quite a while without posting anything. I always felt that there was no need because any new topic that arises always ends the same --Pakistan/IndianMuslim/Hindu mudslinging. I don’t see the point in getting involved in such baseless arguements. It is good to debate, but when everything starts to sound like regurgitated slander, there is no point. We need to be rational. We need to try to discuss or problems and differences in a viable manner. Well, I guess that’s all I can say. I would love to get involved in this forum, but I won’t unless I can see a change in attitude, from BOTH sides.

That's exactly why people with views like yours should participate more (That statement does kinda make me a hypocrite as I feel the same way but don't participate much myself either, but I'm not gonna admit it ;)).
I have come back to GupShup after several months and am extremely disappointed with the quality of the messages.
I don't seewhat all these hate messages achieve.
As a muslim I believe that Allah is Rabbil al ameen, the creator of humanity, not just the creator of muslims. He also created hindus and christians. They have their beliefs and that's fine with me. I don't share them but then they don't share mine, at least we can learn about each other and find ways of co-existing without spewing venom at each other. I don't somehow think that anybody's idea of God appreciates a person making themselves so vulgar.
Please, friends, all of you, wherever you're from and whatever your religion, let's make an effort to consider ALL other humans being as worthy of respect.
In any discussions there are some rules and etiquette that we should follow whether the discussion is about Religion, Politics or anything else. I would like to jot down what I think are important and would appreciate contributions on it.
· First of all, we should know that every person is a distinct identity and he has the right to say whatever he wants to say in polite and pleasant manners.
· Moreover, another very important thing which I am skeptical of discussing here is that most of us are Muslims/Sunnis/Shias/Christians/Hindus not by choice but by default. If we think we are right, others also think that they are right. Therefore, any of us can be right in few things or some of us in many. Therefore, I can say for myself at least that if anybody convinces me thoroughly and after research I still believe in what he says I will convert to his school of thought. If I don't it will be a contradiction because I will have something else on my tongue and in my heart. I will be a "munaafiq". This is another very debatable topic which I will write on later and give my views. There is another very important issue regarding this which we would discuss in that.
· If however the other person still does not believe you he has the right to do so and you r no better than he is. You also have no right to be rude to anybody. Nobody is better than anybody except, that this, only God the all knowing and all mighty knows.
· Moreover, we should hear the arguments with an open mind and heart so that we are not among those according to Quraan with sealed hearts.
· Furthermore, we should sincerely believe what others say they think, they are saying from the heart and not trying to deceive us.
Please add to these your own contributions and views and post it maybe in general forum so that everybody can read it and then try to shun everybody who does not follow these basic rules of argument. :)
I agree withall u guys and gals and it would be wondeful if we spread this out and be nive to everyone ourselves.
