Sadiyah, i guess once you do find that “right” someone (corrrrrrrrrnnnny), you wont find being single very appealing anymore. U’d wish you could get married as fast as you could..
Life has its ups and downs.. but doesnt mean we’d like to stop living altogether huh?

I was just talking about these people who make it sound like it's the worst thing ever you can do to yourself. They don't see it's them who are making their married life turn into a living hell. No green creature is coming from another plannet to ruin their happy life.

it has ups n downs.. it has all its moments. it's the wonderful thing that has ever happened to me and i wudnt change it a bit. it's hard work n takes effort.. but its the best thing that can ever happen to u if u r with the right person :-)

I dont really let this after-marriage stuff get to me.....
Nothing wrong with being single (tho I cant' understand it AT ALL) or with someone. Only thing that really gets to me is the way its been shown here how guys think, esp the ones who hate desi girls... makes me really pessimistic :(

Sara516, it is understandable that you get upset. I used to as well after reading the comments posted here, especially the ones about western born and raised girls. After a while, you just learn to ignore it and it will no longer effect you (well maybe a little, but it won't be the type of thing that is worth responding to). You will learn, after meeting more people, that only a select type of people think badly. Not everybody has the same mentality, and thank goodness for that.

sara: ppl who hates desis here are also desis themselves. shows how much repect they have got for themselves in the first place along with the inferiority complex they seem to project here.if a person can't respect n be proud of who they are and where they are from, are not worth being respected and listened to. dont take it to heart. these ppl are idiots.

You ain’t you know i am one of those. Sadly these girls have no clue what it is to live alone. To come to an empty apartment day after day for a month on month. You and i got off lucky that we became bachelors in such a stage of our lives that our social lives very much made up for the fact that we could have easily been eating alone and doing everything alone. Plus your social life has become more scandalous since you moved to canada

I love Pakistani girls, especially ones born and/or raised in US. Prime reason (besides similar cultural background) is that they are open minded. I don't want a wife that asks me 100 questions when I say hello to another Pakistani girl I see at our local store. I don't have to teach her "how to live in America" and many more reasons.

sara, dont let ignorant people's views bother you. Trust me, they are in the minority. There are genuine and honest people out there who couldnt careless where you were raised. Just if ur a good human being and honest.. thats all that should matter

Four hours (or less) of sleep last night has led to poor spelling. I just realized I've been spelling 'single' wrong throughout this thread. :p
Just like Sara mentioned, I know most of the men here post rude comments in jest (or so I hope), but sometimes those comments feel so real and leads to this weird feeling if any of this is even worth it.
I have seen many desi men (customers) treat their wives horribly at my workplace.
In addition, some of the men that I have across do at times behave like some of the members on GS, which I find very scary.
Reading and learning about the process of divorce and how often marriages don't workout was also bad I guess.
I had a lot more stuff on mind, but I can't seem to recall it mainly due to lack of sleep. :S
