What is barbaric , he did not rape or abduct those girls.
No they are not sisters.
Help us understand then what is wrong with it. Their religion allows it , he is doing it in a country where polygamy is not a crime or prohibited. The bride and grooms are OK with it. He did not abduct or eloped with these girls so nobody’s pride is at stake either.
^I'd like to see how much she still 'loves' her cousin in 12 months time (after husband can't/won't give them both the same things, spends more time with one than the other etc.)..
The parents seem more concerned with family ties then how the daughters might/might not cope with the situation..(they would be 'happy' if he married 10 times - seriously shouldn't that be ringing alarm bells??).. I have no problem with polygyny when it's practised properly but I really can't see how a situation where a guy who has never been married and is now marrying two members of his extended family almost at the same time is going to end up in anything except tears..
It's only allowed when the man can fulfil the conditions of giving them their own space/housing each and can afford to buy them both the same things as well as divide his time equally between them.. I hope he can afford to run two households and is able to look after both future sets of kids he has properly.

The point is that what this guy and these gals are doing is morally , spiritually , religiously, culturally , societally wrong.
This not barbaric practice in anyway as nobody is forcing any of theme to do what they are doing.
As to the question of my sister and daughter marrying in such a way . No I will not do it . If they want to marry this way on their own free will when they are adult then they have the right to do so . I have no right to stop it it as in the culture , country and society where it is happening it is not illegal or immoral in which way you see it.
