you got a point, but some time at some places its required by the state! although its hard for those girls who are closer to their fathers, but in north America it goes by husband's name or mother name!
mostly men likes their names at the end of their wives, if thats the case then no need to argue with them, men may get jealous and mean! As GN said, women are like men's property! In our culture women is meant to sacrifice in her all stages of life! but in hereafter she will get more than a men! On the day of judgment all human will be called by their mother's name :)

i dont understand the tradition of women changing names after marriage, ownership change huee hai kya? khair if my wife wants to change its her choice but i will never ask her to change, she has been known by a certain name for X number of years why should she change now? :k:
