Re: All about diapers…
Our doc recommends A&D over the zinc oxide creams. So we use that or Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. Or just plain old Aquaphor.
They all work fine.

^ lol!
gtg, simply washing will help with the pee changes, but trust me, you will want to wipe and then wash when there's a poo! good call on the big box of wipes. fyi, the walmart generic brand are the ones we use and they work just as well as the pampers ones.
Re: All about diapers...
So we didn't get to use our newborn diapers.. Baby was 7 pounds 6 ounces but they strted the size 1 pampers swaddlers at the hospital so we continued using that..the day we came home, baba had to run to bjs to buy the size1 diapers because we only had a few from the hospital.
I don't know what to do with the newborn box of diapers now!
When did you guys start washing their bottom in a sink under running water? He poops 8 times a day n I just wipe his bottom with wet wipes n warm water..I do want to wash him now but I m scared I may harm his sensitive skin!
Re: All about diapers...
Double post...
Re: All about diapers…
I guess you cannot return the size N diapers? If it is unopened you can exchange them for a bigger size I think, check where they sell that packing…I mean most stores tends to have different number of diapers in a box, even if they are the same brand. For example Walmart might sell Pampers Size 1,84 diapers…while Target might have the same thing in the quantity of 90 diapers.
Or you can save them for some other baby.I got a pack of NB diapers from a friend because her child had outgrown and she was not able to return.
I recall I used to wash E ever since she was a newborn. Now since they poop a lot,it was not every time she pooped but like maybe 2 times a day,or even once.I was too scared of diaper rashes.
P.S…I never knew you had a BJs in your pind…![]()
Re: All about diapers...
We ordered it on amazon so I dunno if we can return here. When are you having another baby? ;)
I m so afraid of rashes that I change his diaper myself n apply cream after that otherwise he would have so many rashes by now..he poops a lot!
Ps! We went to "shahr" near our pind..It's about 30 mins away!
Re: All about diapers...
I washed him right from the begining - just make sure you use luke warm water and not hot water and he should be fine
Re: All about diapers...
^ we started washing him after his circumcision healed because you're not supposed to get water on it until it does.
save your newborn diapers for baby #2! :D
or pass them on to friends who've just had babies.
Re: All about diapers...
Returns on Amazon are surprisingly easy! Just view your account info and select returns. Give it a try.
Also, initially we used wipes cuz I thought that's just what you do, but Ammi made some comment and I realized we could start just washing her with warm water, and so we did it almost from the beginning.
Re: All about diapers...
Yep we were also told to not let him Get wet done there..he has healed since yday but I m still putting Vaseline n plan to do so until his docs visit tomorrow..once she gives us okay, I will give my child a bath n start washing him under the running water inshallah.
Sgc..what other baby??? How does that happen? :p
I will check out amazon returns but in excitement I had opened the box way before the baby was born :D
Re: All about diapers...
GTG we washed Jr. from the day he was born. No probs there, bought super soft towels and used to dry him real well. Poop or pee, he was washed. And I never used any diaper rash cream because he was washed he never got a rash due to not being clean. I just feel that wipes are great but nothing beats feeling clean when you wash your kid.
But like SGC we did not wash him after peeing when his circumcision was healing but poo even then we washed. And another tip an older lady gave me was to apply coconut oil to the baby's bottom. And we did do that once we went back to the Gulf, I was scared he was gonna get a rash in the hot weather and being in a diaper but mashAllah nothing.
We should compile all our tips somewhere, amazing how many things we do but forget the moment we pass through that phase. I got a lot of different size pampers from a friend and I gifted them. You could also donate your NB size to a women's and baby shelter or a hospital. It might help someone in need if you can't return them.
Re: All about diapers...
Wow..I was told not to wash him so much since babies haw very sensitive skin n it can dry out easily. I may make my son too nazuk. :( he poops every 2 hours so I just wet the wipes in warm water, squeeze some water out n then dry it before applying rash cream.. I heard about coconut oil too, I think once we start washing him I should use coconut oil but isn't it too dry? Do you warm it up?
We should have a sticky thread for new parents.. With faqs :D
Good idea fir diapers..I don't know anyone expecting right now so probably that's a better idea!
Re: All about diapers...
GTG even though it is cold where we are living we use humidifiers, we have heated homes and use lotions and oils to keep our skin from drying. So even washing your baby won't have a drying affect. Also you or your mom must be giving the baby massages (which we desis really focus on ) that really helps baby's skin and doesn't dry out. Also a thing that I saw working for Jr. in this weather now is that I massage oil as soon as we come out of the shower. No drying out alhamdulillah
Re: All about diapers...
Hehe no we don't massage him yet... In fact my mom doesnt know all this stuff, she has never raised babies (we were raised by our nani) n doesn't know much about babies at all..she n I google stuff together. :D ( my husband taught her the diaper change, but she was afraid to change because of cord stump n circumcision, hubby changed it in the hospital n later I took over with his help) it's a first baby in the house n we know nothing!
I guess I will find a you tube video n learn the massage!
Re: All about diapers...
If you are going to use oil to massage...olive oil is good cause it doesn't disturb their natural body oils.
Re: All about diapers...
we massaged with olive oil + almond oil (mixed in equal quantities) while on the bum we applied coconut oil. Massaging is really really beneficial for the baby, helps with oil circulation. I also loved our massage time I would keep talking to him and smiling and I really think it gives mom and baby bonding time.
This is from my personal experience I have seen a few kids whose nanis were there when they were born and they used to give them massages and talk to them and laugh and so on, those kids just love ppl talking to them and are attentive. Just my observation with kids around me.
Re: All about diapers...
I have a box of newborns, half a box of size 1 and now i think i'll have some size 3's as well (3 sizes in three months mA! :O) A lot of my friends are either pregnant or planning on getting pregnant...so i plan to use the diapers to make a diaper cake for them. I have made two before and they are pretty easy to make (youtube.) The diaper gets used and so will the items you put on them.
Re: All about diapers...
i gave his legs massage today because my legs were hurting :D
He enjoyed the right side but hated it on left side!!!v
Re: All about diapers...
^ I do that too! Rub her head or back or feet where I myself am sore!
