An Open Letter To Aljazeera
Better late then never, good!! Now that we have an English Aljazeera, probably a daisy cutter won’t devastate Aljazeera’s office in Kabul.
I live in Pakistan, *** miles from the Pak/afghan border, *** miles from the tribal area of Pakistan, alleged to have harboring Taliban and Al-Qaeda. 2900 miles from Palestine where a Muslims grandmother blows herself up. *** miles from Kabul, where Karzai rules a 30 square mile area of Afghanistan. 2000 miles from Iraq, where the Iraqi’s are getting their first taste of the “First Amendment”, Freedom, by setting the Iraqi souls free of their bodily domain. 1200 miles from Dubai a society that will put any European country to shame, and 9000 miles from Washington, where bush rules the world.
The point I want to make is that I have been following your news broadcast (English) for quite some time, and you have done a pretty good job, but I think you have made the news a bit “Too” Digestible for your western clientele. I know to win the “HEARTS AND MINDS “of the western clientele, you will have to portray a flowery picture, with the thorns clipped to an extent, but please don’t make this a long term agenda. All I ask for is, give the Muslims a real voice.
I know your think tanks are treading on really thin ice, on one hand they want more and more western audience but on the other hand they also want the truth to go out. It’s quite an impossible task, more of an oxymoronic scenario; please get an absolute genius to help you through these teething times.
