Assalam-Alaikum,
I’ve always wondered about this ayat (Alif Laam Mim) from Quran. I was told that this exists in Quran but we do not know what it means.
Do you have any ideas as to why it is in Quran, and what it’s purpose is?
Jazakallah

Jazakallah
it means,
** I am the Lord(ALLAH) All Knowing **
I'll give you Arbic version later.
There is concensus amongst the ulema that only Allah knows the meaning to these letters.
what does ulema mean?
The scholars of Islam

this is probably what is means!
Hey Johnd,
**
I am the Lord(ALLAH) All Knowing
**
Yaar if you can get the full explanation of how they came to this conclusion, it would be a great help.
Just like Alpha1, to the best of my knowledge, no-one knows what these letters mean. The scholars of Islam who have tried to understand the meaning behind these letters were only able to provide educated guesses as to what they could mean rather than being able to provide an answer with complete certainty.
So if you can get hold of the reasoning behind this explanation of Alif Laam Meem, I for one would be very interested to know all about it
